Van Helsing

"Ah, I see," Lestat replied. "That's interesting..."

 

"I suppose it's interesting..." Will said, "Or it will be anyway, when the werewolf and John finally fight and we see how much work I'll have left to do."

Carl shrugged, "I'm not solving anything. It's just a theory. You're the one who has called a vampire lovely for the first time ever, I believe, and wants to get on her good side." he looked up at the ceiling innocently.

 

Hannah covered her mouth and shook her head. "I'm done." She promised, her voice muffled by her hands.

 

"I'm teasing, Carl," Van Helsing smiled. "And you can't tell me she isn't pretty, either," he added, shutting his eyes.

 

"Oh, I thought you'd be more intrigued," Edward smiled, pulling her hands off her mouth and placing them on either side of his face. "I can't see you smile if you do that."

 

"Not much," Lestat grinned. "Christ!" he swore suddenly, moving faster. "I really need something to eat... there is no fine Creole blood here, though... I can settle for what I can find."

 

"She's a vampire Van Helsing, they're all pretty. That's part of their species's... I don't know, adaptation." Carl pointed out, still smiling.

"Yeah, if he dies, the rest should be pretty easy." Will said, "And I think there's a town near by. Just go hunt there."

Jinx spotted the town coming up. "Are we stopping here?" she called back to the others.

 

Hannah tried to keep a straight face but burst out laughing. "You are not fair!" She said between giggles.

"Yes, that's it!" Beatrice called back.

Good. I'd like to see what this newcomer wants. John thought.

 

Jake pulled back on his stallion's reigns. They're stopping at this town? That's good enough for me. The sooner those leeches come out here, the sooner I can get rid of them.

 

"So is Beatrice more lovely now she's one as well?" Van Helsing asked slyly.

 

"I win," Edward laughed, kissing her through his grin. "You're no match for me, dear."

 

"Oh, I shall," Lestat grinned, slowing now they had reach the town.

John, I'm off to eat. Don't do anything too rash without me holding back the boy, he sent to the other vampire quickly.

 

Carl chuckled, "Sure, but you know I really hadn't noticed." he said, looking out the window. "I think we're stopping. I suggest pretending to go to sleep, if you want to get on her good side so badly."

"Okay." Jinx pulled the carrige over into the town, throwing a glamor over herself and Beatice before any humans could notice anything strange. "I see an inn over that way." she added, pointing towards the middle of town.

 

I don't think I'll have to do anything tonight. There's someone else following our little group. John sent back.

Hannah grinned. "True. I like it that way though." She tweeked his nose.

 

"You like her," Van Helsing added stubbornly before turning over and shutting his eyes tightly.

 

"Then I won't complain," Edward replied, turning his head to look out the carriage window. "Look familiar?" he asked.

 

As you wish, Lestat sighed. I shall speak with Edward anyway.

"Well, I'm off," Lestat said to Will. "No offense, but I hunt alone and I don't share."

 

"No offence taken. I won't be hunting for a few night anyway." Will waved hiim off. "Have fun."

"Possibly." Carl smiled. "But I suppose that puts in the same boat, doesn't it? What has become of us hating vampires?"

Jinx lead the carrige to the inn and jumped down to lead the horses to the stables.

 

Hannah nodded reluctantly. "I used to come here with my mother...."

He's not going to enjoy the fact that this newcomer has plans for Hannah. Beatrice and Jinx as well. John said to Lestat.

Beatrice joined Jinx in taking the horses to the stables.

 

"I'll go get us a room." Jinx said, after they'd put the horses in stales. "I think Hannah needs to hunt, too. Maybe you guys can go while we get things set up here, what do you think?"
