Van Helsing

Lestat frowned. Where's John in all this? He can't be that slow when it comes to actually finding something and eating it...

 

Will broke the kiss but kept his arms around Jinx while he looked at Van Helsing. "But I do mind." he said simply. "I haven't seen Jinx in years. I thought she was dead, so excuse me for being happy to see her." he looked Van Helsing in the eye, giving ever indication of being honest. But he also sent a very strong feeliong of trust over all of them
Jinx stood dazed in his arms. She closed her eyes after a minute and tired to clear her head. "Will..." she began, vaguely.

"Yes dear?" Will looked down at her, smiling and making her feel so safe.

Jinx opened her mouth to say something but couldn't for a moment. "No, stop." she finally said quickly, already not sure what she meant herself.

 

Hannah froze, starting to think she should trust the vampire. She shook her head. What the hell was that?

 

Edward gripped Hannah's hand. "Don't focus on him," he muttered in her ear. "I..." but even his mind was clouding, his grip on the gun handle loosening.

 

Oh, poor Edward, Lestat laughed, his mind clear. If only you had someone to teach you had to not fall for that old trick... let me help you...

 

"All the same," Van Helsing snapped, trying to catch Jinx's eye despite his fading focus. "We are on a schedule and need to move soon."

 

Again Will ignored Van Helsing and looked at Jinx. "Stop what dear?" he asked, kindly.

"Stop... eh..." Jinx couldn't think straight and tried to remember what she should do. "Just stop, let me think."

Will laughed, "Jinx, you can think, I'm not doing anything."

"No, you're stopping me!" as she said it she remembered what she wanted to do and she pushed away from him. The feeling of trust and the dazed feeling lessened slightly from not touching him but she was still unable to think straight for long. "Don't-"

Will grabbed her wrist again, "Jinx, calm down."

 

"Let go of her!" Hannah yelled, trying to break away from the false sense of trust.

 

Edward gasped, gripping Lestat's fang mark against his abs, a sudden pain flaring their. Then, even more suddenly, his mind was cleared. He could tell everyone else wasn't in the same state, and decided not to thank or think about why Lestat was helping.

Edward stepped forward now, the gun still held at his side. "Listen... Will," he began, a small smile on his face. "Jinx is with us, and, unless you want us to hurt you and take her back right now, I'd suggest you let her go and we can all be on our way like my friend has been politely insisting."

 

Van Helsing swallowed, waiting.

 

You're welcome, my friend, Lestat murmured to Edward, drifting now to sit in the bows of the nearest tree, one knee drawn halfway up to lean his arm on.

 

"hm..." Will looked at Edward for a moment, looking more interested than surprised. "I see. you want to fight me for Jinx? I would rather not subject her to such voilence as fighting over her. I'll let her go with you, but I'll be sure to keep an eye on her and be back to take her home soon."

"Home?" Jinx spoke up, confused.

"Yes home. Where we live, dear, remember?" Will looked at her and brushed a strand of hair from her eyes.

"No, I don't." Jinx answered, looking away from him. "But I do remember-"

"yes," Will cut her off." well. I'll leave you be, my dear, and see you soon." he turned her face to look at him and kissed her again. "Be careful around these fools." he added before walking off. Well, protective aren't they... Ah well, this gives me time to find the other one, John.

 

"Jinx, who was that?" Hannah asked.

 

Van Helsing frowned. "I'd like to ask the same question," he muttered.

 

Edward sighed, going back to shake Hannah slightly. "Are you alright? You looked... dazed."

Thank you, Lestat, he thought quickly before looking back at Jinx.

 

You would have been much better as a vampire, Lestat chuckled to Edward, and then left the man's mind, yawning to himself. Oldest trick in the book, Will... he sighed to himself. It's a good thing I like a few people in that group... it would have been fun to watch them all flounder, though...

 

Jinx shook her head and slapped her face to clear her head competly. "William." she spat out, her real emotions bursting through her. "I can't believe he kissed me! I hate that man."

Will laughed, hearing her as he walked through the forest following John's sent.

"Let's just go." she sighed.

 

"Yeah... I'm okay." Hannah answered Edward. This makes things more complicated.

 

"Right," Van Helsing muttered, shoving his bow behind him again, and snapping the reigns impatiently.

 

"A bit, yes," Edward replied to her thought, and helped her back in the carriage. "Did you see what Lestat did?"
