"Oh....well....okay. I guess there's always going to be someone that's first....and always someone that's going to be last." It was then that Andrew saw the leader approach. Andrew also bowed his head when he passed by and simply stared at the ground. He was easily intimidated by the leader. And most other times, everyone else. Including Seth. Somewhat. Either way, after the leader left, Andrew looked around at the other 2 pups seeing if they would want to eat first even though he somewhat figured that neither of them wanted to eat first as so stated by Kasha, and Andrew figured Seth would also like to go last. Andrew approached the deer and took a small piece of a rib and began to eat it.

 

Kasha simply just watched the leader as he strode by. Pride with every stride. 'I wonder if I'll ever be like that someday. Queen of the forest.' She pondered to herself and watched the leader eat and then watched Andrew. 'What's so important about what he does?' She questioned to herself, and after a few minutes stood up and also went nearby to Andrew, hoping her would share with her. Mother always warned that wolves would get food aggressive if another wolf, not so much a pup, strode to closely to them. Kasha kept a few steps away from Andrew and plucked off some fur from the kill, she noticed that no one had eaten the liver yet, Andrew was near it. She decided to wait. The liver was her favorite. It was also the healthiest it gave her a lot of energy and right now, she needed the energy. Kasha would get aggressive sometimes if another wolf started to eat what she wanted.
'I'm sure we can share it.' She thought.

 

Seth waited his turn. He didn't care what part he ate, as long it was some part of a leg.
He watched as the leader simply ate much politely, and most pack members gave him room. He hoped he'd be like that someday. Proud, strong, respected. He still sat, waiting for Kasha to be done. He wouldn't of cared if he was even last eating.
So we'll play tag...hmph. Seth thought. It would be a good exercise. He wouldn't care if we'd get brutal and fight. That would be some exercise. Seth's mind was always clouded with his dead parents, lieing on the ground, the ground stained with blood. He growled, but swallowed, the wolves would get the idea that he's hungry.

John sat at the entrance of the cave. They could hurry up. Grab a peice and leave. We need to move.
There are poachers coming.
He caught the scent when he was passing where the deer herd was. He heard faint gun shots, as the deer was ambushed. And the humans machines. Though they had small time, he would let them eat.
He would not let them get Kasha.

 

Andrew managed to tear the rib off and brought it with him to a corner near the cave. Within a few moments he had finished, and the bone was polished smooth as ivory. He licked his lips satisfied for now and observed everything that was happening. Andrew noticed the Alpha was still near and dared not to make eye contact but....the leader himself, seemed worried......or...at least a tiny bit impatient. As if he wanted everyone to finish their meal and move. As if something was going to happen. Nah.....he's probably just staying here to guard and give us the feeling of protection. Nothing's going to happen. I'm always wrong. Andrew looked back to the rest of the pack and especially at Kasha. She had been getting a little close to him when he was eating. ......maybe she wanted that rib.....-_-.....and I ate it......all of it.... He looked down at the ground with his ears flattened on his head. I'll have to apologize later.

 

Rayne already took her fair share and waited for the rest of the pack. She wondered what was going to happen next... then she caught the smell. Humans were in the forest. Her hair stood up on end and she gave a small low growl. Humans were greedy. They take what ever they want whenever they want. It made her stomach turn at the very thought of them taking their pack members one by one...

 

Seth caught the scent. Ears up, and he growled. His tail showed his frustration.
No...it can't be.
Seth got up, and stepped a bit more closer to the cave entrance, but never close to the packleader. He also went farther.
No, He snarled.
He scratched the ground, in anger-but maybe fear-no, never fear, never ever fear, he told himself.
He wasn't hungry. He was pumped. He needed to move.

John noticed Seth's anger. He eyed him sternly. "Go in line for the food."
He wanted mainly the pups to be ok. They must eat...for the long day ahead..to get away from the poachers. The unlucky thing was that the humans smelt of other animal blood. They were professionals, and the pack would have to veer off many times to lose the trackers.

Seth widened his eyes, backing away, whining. He growled to cover it, and stepped more further back, and closer to the deer, but not close to Kasha. He wouldn't want to start a fight with a pack member. He hoped that they would forget everything. They would. He reassured himself. Older people always do that. He put his head down to not show his sneer.

 

Andrew breathed a sigh and when he had inhaled the somewhat chilly air, he too, had smelled what it seemed everyone else smelled. A foreign scent, to him at least. What's that smell? He asked himself as he continually sniffed the air. I don't know this smell.....do I?....it smells....so strange..... Andrew quickly looked around to see if anyone else noticed the strange new foreign scent. He got more than what he bargained for. Seth seemed to have gotten very upset and went to the mouth of where the leader was. He couldn't hear what had transpired but assumed that Seth had been scolded by the leader and he retreated looking even more angry than he had. Andrew looked back down when Seth retreated but felt his fury ebbing off of him. What's wrong? Is it because of this smell?.......Is it danger? It probably is...if that's the case we should hurry. Andrew still didn't quite get what was wrong or how dangerous the situation was, but he did know that the smells seemed to be getting slightly stronger.

 

Kasha watched as Andrew backed away from the meat and put her snout under the rib-cage of the deer and leaned back, snagging out the liver. She sat down, tearing off a small piece of it and quickly ate it. She suddenly felt so much more hungry. She wanted to eat the whole thing. Now. Kasha dug into the liver, and suddenly stopped, perking up her ears. She could hear a distant barking. Very distant. Perhaps two miles or so.
'Hunters...' She thought, and saw it again. Stepping out in the snow covered field. 'Momma!' She called, and looked out in front of her hearing the sound of barking and saw demons charging towards her through the snow. The snow flew up with every jump to get closer to her, they had big teeth not quite the size of a wolf's but they were back, the body of the demon had black, shaggy fur, and yellowish almost reddish eyes that reflected in the snow as the moon shone down.
'Kasha! Run!' He mothers sweet voice suddenly called, Kasha couldn't move. She just stood there... Frozen in time. Her mother leaped down in front of her and snarled biting down on the back of one of the dog's necks as it went in to try and snatch of Kasha. It yelped and was thrown into the deep snow. Her mother kicked one of the dogs as it seized her flank, and was suddenly taken down by another demon dog.
'Run, Kasha, run!' Her mother cried, trying to stand up. Kasha just stood there. She wanted to move, wanted to run but her legs just said no. She saw her mother manage to kick away one of the dogs and reared up, pulling away the other.
'Run! Now!' Her mother said in a threatening almost panicked tone, she pushed Kasha to get her moving. Kasha fell a few feet from the spot she was frozen in and suddenly stood up, shakily, rushing, she went forward, away from the demons that had just attacked her mother, not even looking back. The only thought that ran through her head was escape. Her legs were working now, when she started to run they felt like rubber. She felt like they would just break off.
'Mother!' She cried and hushed when she saw her mother running next to her,
'Run, Kasha! Run! Get out of here! Don't look back! Don't look back!' Her mother said, right after a sharp shot was fired. Her mother stumbled down, yelping as she tried to get her back leg. Blood hit the snow. Kasha didn't look back too caught up in the moment of running. She didn't even hear the gun shot go off. She didn't even realize her mother had dropped down after being shot. Fear illuminated Kasha's eyes as she ran and got across the creek in the forest, back to the den as quick as possible.
Kasha shook her head, shaking away the flashback, she felt tears rise up but pushed them back. Kasha looked up at her father worriedly.

 

Andrew was starting to get increasingly nervous, because everyone else's nervousness was contagious. But then he saw that Kasha just wanted the liver and he felt better. She just wanted the liver! I didn't steal her rib at all! Andrew smiled, relieved that he didn't steal Kasha's food on accident and sat back on his haunches unworried and calm for now. He didn't realize that Kasha was having a sad moment and that Seth was having an angry moment. He didn't realize that the leader was growing more and more fidgety and that the other wolves of the pack were starting to get worried and eat their share quickly so they could get going. He didn't realize that real danger was imminent very very soon. All he knew was that he could race Seth and Kasha and play tag while they were fleeing. I wonder how fast Seth can go.....and how Kasha can go. I want to be the fastest, but I wouldn't mind being second.

 

Seth quickly got to the deer, ripping off a leg and eating it quickly. If the leader could sense that hunters were coming, then he'd have to eat quick. Seth got ready for the run.
Now...I won't let anyone die this time.
Seth growled, but stayed in the shadows of the cave to hide his anxiety to move.
He wanted to tear the hunters to shreds. The way to do that is to disarm them, and knock them off their feet. You must get to them unnoticed by sneeking up on them, or it's a straight shot one shot one kill.

John waited impatiently. He smelt the humans even nearer. He sensed that they were at where the deer meadow was. He hoped that they picked the deer. They didn't, and he knew why. There were only a few, slow footprints, while dragging a deer. He kney they would do that. Pick off where the main prizes are. The wolves. They were getting even nearer. "Packmembers. Grab a peice, and run away from the deers meadow!!" He yelled, getting up with speed.

 

Rayne swore under her breath. She was the one that led the humans here. How could she be so stupid! It was unexceptable! She turned to the pups. "Come on! Let's go. Hurry now and quickly!" Memories... memories of her past flooded her mind. Her parents... murdered, or she was told it was that way. She ran to the cave enterance, but stood there waiting for the others. She would not leave one member of the pack behind ever.

 

"Huh?" Andrew noticed that the leader was already on his feet on he almost felt fear completely overcome him. But he didn't let it. Instead, he laughed quietly to himself just to relieve some of his tension and maybe relieve some of the other wolves' tensions as well. Either that or annoy them on accident. Andrew headed over to Kasha and saw that she was in distress. He attempted to cheer her up. "Hey, Kasha....let's have a race. You can join too, Seth. Whoever loses has to.....hmm...well....what should the loser do?," Andrew asked them. Already adrenaline was pumping through his system, his legs shivering with excitement. A race! A race! He ahd never raced anyone before and he was very excited. Andrew hoped he wouldn't perform too poorly in this race because of his trembling legs. He didn't know whether his legs were trembling from fear left over from being swallowed down, or from sheer excitement of a competition. Andrew walked moderately to the entrance of the cave his legs shaking with each step. He would await their answer there.

Seth growled at Andrew, the annoyance of him completely overwhelming him. He heard the same demons barks again.
Their reckless...he thought.
Seth stood, attempting to push the other wolf members out of the cave to give them speed.

John growled at Seth. "Just move."

Seth ran, growling with frustration.
Curse this all.

 

OOC: Why do you always go for the lead? Shouldn't leaders be good ones?

Also, it's a simple mistake. I saw the leader position was open, Hellkitten is a good friend of mine, so I though I'd help out, and it said you were already another character at least.

BIC- Andrew just decided to forget about their race and just run following the other older wolves. He would race himself, somehow and if Kasha still wanted to race, she could catch up and tell him. Andrew knew Seth didn't want to race, because before he took off, he heard Seth's annoyed growl. I knew he didn't like me. That's okay. I don't know how to help him anyway. Andrew also found it funny that Seth growled at him. He laughed at he continued running never breaking pace but slowing down slightly a little bit until he stopped laughing. He carried a smug grin for the time being and ran faster, his excitement and hidden fear fueling his constant speed and nearly leading the pack in their run. When he noticed this, Andrew immediately slowed down a bit to follow a wolf who knew where they were going. He knew that he would never be a leader and if he did he would cause extreme problems for the pack.

And a Recap of what's going on so far, please?

Right.

The pack has awoken, and gone out for the hunt. Its about noon now, they had just gotten back from the hunt when the leader showed up from his daily 'errands' in taking care of the forest, anyway, they are leaving the den now after a threat of humans entering their territory, since it is, after all, hunting season. Kasha had a flashback, dog attacked, killed mom, oh snap, she stopped her daydream remembering there was danger.

Norras emerged from his den, stretching on his front paws, feeling the fresh dirt beneath his paws. He closed his gapeing mouth and looked around cautiously. In looking, he spotted Kasha, and calmly walked up to the pup.

"How goes the morning, young one?" He asked deeply.
