The Rose

Kaito looked at the door to Rhixan's room, and then at the door to Raffello's. he wondered if he should talk to either of them...

 

Raffello sighed and came out of his room, bumping into Kaito. "Sorry. My fault." He had almost dropped the memory shard.

 

Kaito saw a small glimmering object he was holding "sorry sir Raffello" he said, he we wondered if he should ask about the shard....

 

Raffello smiled. "I gotta talk to Rhixan. I think she would like it if I gave her something back."

 

Kaito had a smirk on his face "would you mind if i asked what?" he said trying to get an answer

 

Raffello looked at the shard. "I got asked to take a part of Rhixan's memory away by her mother. I'm giving it back to her... so she can be happy."

 

"im not going to ask how you did it, but memories of what? she has been trying to remember something..." he said to Raffello

 

"....... an old friend.... She was engaged to him but then.... Aparently, he went missing." Raffello sighed. "She cried and cried for ages."

 

Kaito was silent, he felt the color of his face fleeing "she was talking about that.... she was disappointed not being able to remember... she told me about a boy who looked like me, and i told her of a girl that looked like her... i think we may have figured it out" he mumbled

 

Raffello sighed. "I dont mind who it is. As long as Rhixans happy." Moving past him, he entered Rhixan's room. Rhixan was fast asleep. Sitting on the bed next to her, Raffello dropped the shard onto her head and it sank in.

 

Kaito watched with surprise as the shard sank into her head, she was completely undisturbed by it

 

Rhixan rolled over in her sleep and smiled. Raffello smiled. "She will remember everything. You should be happy, Kaito."

 

he stood surprised still "how.... how do you know my name?" he asked suspiciously "nevermind that, but just so you know, i dont want you snooping around in my head, i will be making sure i dont stop thinking about what is important to me" he was very nervous about what this Raffello was going to do....

 

Raffello stood up. "I know your name because I know who you are. Her parents told Rhixan that you had gone missing because they wanted me to marry her. By orders, i took her memories of you." He frowned. "Its sorta my fault... My parents and Rhixan's knew that I could do this. They wanted me to place phony love there to but.. I wanted her to love me for real."

 

Kaito had a glare on his face "so your the reason she left...." he said with an angry tone "you never told her? yet took her away from me... she was my only friend, damn.... i cant even think straight.." he said

 

Raffello shook his head. "Its half my fault. Her parents decided it! Not me. If I told her, she wouldnt even know who you were. I gave her back her memories for her happiness!"

 

Kaito felt a tear forming in his eye "but you didnt have to listen, you could have refused!" he said

 

"And then what?! I didnt even know about you until it had been sorted out!" Raffello said. Rhixan rolled over to face them and frowned in her sleep.

 

"i dont even know anymore....i suppose i cant blame you for following orders... but the royal family... what they did is unforgivable" he said sternly

 

Raffello nodded. Rhixan's eyes flickered as she woke up. She rubbed her eyes and looked at everyone, dozey.
