I don't ship and I think it's stupid tbh, no offense to anyone who does it but idk I just feel like shipping is basically not being able to accept the canon couples

don't even get me started on 'ship wars', like are you seriously ****ing arguing about which fictional relationship with fictional characters is better

 

Ship wars are stupid.

I ship for the hilarity, if characters end up together it's because they were meant to, so it's like: "Ok, that happened. Yay..."

I laugh at people who have ship wars, because all of my favorite couples are canon.

Like Jack/Ianto, they're my fave

 

All writers are fallible. From the best to the worst, none are perfect. I am more than willing to accept that sometimes the writer just plain ****ed up. They can do wrong. And like any other element in a story couples can be done well or badly. While I'm not really into the whole shipping game, I feel like you can legitimately criticise the flaws in a piece and feel that there are better alternatives with pairings the same as fight sequences, character deaths, plot twists and everything else. So accepting what the creator put out isn't necessarily the best thing to do, whether it's couples or anything else. In fact, I feel that if you're not at least trying to be critical of the author's decisions then you're being somewhat... complacent.

I guess you're right, and I agree with most points. While I might disagree with a canon couple, I accept that it's not going to change and no amount of shipping will stop it. Oh well.

Yeah, actually thinking it'll change anything is nothing short of delusional. Things will be what they are for better or worse.

Just because it's okay doesn't mean I don't still wish they'd shut up.

I don't mind random shipping so long as people don't try to shove it into the cannon. If you recognize that it isn't cannon but want to ship anyway then fine. But once you start talking about like it is actually there when it isn't I just want to smack people.

When it comes to shipping, I usually don't mess with canon couples unless they're just that bad. I usually ship the people in stories who don't have a love interest. Like Riku. RIKU NEEDS SOME LOVING! You know who else needs some loving? NAMINE!
