Seriously? People don't do enough to stop the kids from tearing eachother apart. Or other people, for that matter. Two kids started to fight in the lunch room today, and the assistant princible had to step between them (litterally) to stop them. That, and recently there's a DEFINATE increase in kids bringing guns to school lately. It's ludicrous, and makes you feel nervous to even walk into school these days. I heard sometime during this week that a kid brought a gun to show off to his friends,in an elementry school,THAT'S scary. Kids THAT young, weilding GUNS??? SOMETHING should be done about it. Anyone else feel the same?

Yes I feel the same. I personally don't know anyone who brought a gun to school, but I know a few who brought knives. Fights in schools happen all the time (from experience from my old schools).

I know schools try to prevent this by making announcements or warnings for whoever fights. Some schools have metal detectors and guards who do random searches on kids who enter the property.

Knives? Ugh,what the hell is wrong with people? Well, just watch yourself. The reason I brought up the fight,is because that was the first fight I've seen in any of my schools. Just watch yourself, kid. School ISN'T safe,no matter what the teachers say...

knives, guns, scissors. everything is a weapon these days. sure, knives and guns are really dangerous. but they aren't if you know how to use them, and most people don't. i was watching the news a bit the other day and they said that a small elementary school child got suspended for bringing in a water gun. my dad completly flipped out at that. he said," its completly harmless! its a water gun! how is that dangerous?"
its true that schools have lower standards today. you bring in scissors for a project or something and they suspend you, while we have very sharp pencils that are just as dangerous. i do agree, schools are not safe. in 8th grade, i had a teacher who kinda walked funny, like he had a disability or something. our class asked him about it one day, and he told us the reason. he worked in another school that was dangerous. he said the teens there had switch-blades and razors hidden under their sleeves and everywhere. he told us that one of the teens even attacked him, and cut him with a knife.
teens have no common sense today, its sad and true. no one cares for safety and no one will care until something really bad happens, like one kid killing another, in school.

Dang! I REALLY wish people would get a grip? Why do they think it's "cool" to hold weapons? And as soon as they hurt someone, they feel guilty, but the darkness usually gets the stronger hold, and makes them continue, until they end up in jail for life. These kids are insane, and shouldn't bring dangerous weapons to school. Likewise, they should have people telling them not to,and not allowing them to. *Sigh*,school is insane, and kids that bring weapons should be put in a different school...either that or kicked out...

you know whats funny? those kids get sent to juvy or jail and they dont learn anything. they leave prison or wherever and start killing and attacking people all over agin. then, they get sent to jail again. its a horrible, bloody, vicious cycle that never ends until the ones who killed others die. seriously, we need jails to have a brain-washing type of machine. it sounds childish, but its true. the teens who get sent to juvy are wasting their lives with their own mindset. they need something to teach them that cutting people with knives is no way to live a life.

Yeah, but question is,what? There's really no way to straighten them out. Once they kill, they grow a lust for it,and usually can't stop. Some do get a grip on reality, but the rest just can't stop. It's like ciggerettes. They try it once, and it consumes them. Only a few get lucky enought to stop,or at least stop later. The rest smoke untill the day they die. The kids who can't stop killing, really should get either life in jail,or the death penalty. But,I really don't understand why there is such a thing as life in jail,if jail is supposed to teach them not to do crimes...But,either way, there's no way to stop it at this point....I wish there was though...

There was a threat going around over at my school about some kid bringing a gun on campus. Everyone was so freaked out and just so scared. Turns out the kid was just fooling everybody. But this stuff really does happen. Kids are dumb for bringing them onto a school's campus. They think they know how much real danger they bring, but they don't.

Gawd, that had to be scary...That's another problem. People who sit down and lie about it. They are ALSO messed up in the head, and tend to actually do it one day. I'd stray away from that kid if I were you,and if you run into him, walk away..FAR AWAY....

I think I know who the kid is, but I'm not sure. I'll make sure to stay away from them if it is them. It was pretty scary, so many parents were coming to pick up their kids, but 5th period, atleast half of the school was gone.

I'm glad to, but a lot of stuff like that doesn't turn out like that. My school was lucky.

My God, this seriously gets old after a while. This year, we've had over 5 bomb threats, at least 2 lockdowns, and fights out the wazoo. Of course, my school has had no assembly, announcement, or anything else to sort this matter out. There was even a RAPE when I was in 6th grade. Yes, a 6th grader got raped by another 6th grader. I don't know about anyone else's school, but mine's seriously messed up.

Something needs to be done about School Violence. Thankfully, there's been nothing like that in my school, but last year a kid said he was going to bring a gun to school and shoot everyone.

But I think that kids do things like this because they have a hard home life or something.

Wow, may be you should get away from that school, it seems really dangerous.

At my school, we had a mob fight and two other fights all in one week, but nothing as bad as that.
