Kingdom Hearts Riku and Kairi...

During Kingdom Hearts 1 we all know that Sora had Kairi's heart and Namine her Nobody was created in Castle Oblivion at the same time. This begs the question if her Heart, Body and Spirit are all acounted for who or what is that thing Riku was carrying around during Kingdom Hearts 1?

 

It's her body.
Namine was created without her True Self's body, which is why she's so strange. I think it's said that Kairi's heart crafted a body of light to make Namine, but not sure if that's true.
But Riku had her body and soul. I"m assuming soul because she was still alive. When she lost her heart, her body should have left the Realm of Light and made a Nobody, but it didn't either because there was no darkness in her heart (and that somehow prevented her from leaving the Realm of Light) or because she didn't lose her heart the traditional way and make a Heartless.

 

if this is correct then when did Namine get created? and when did she come to be and what acctually links her to Kairi?

 

She was created at the same time Roxas was, was she not? When Sora freed his heart with the "artificial" Keyblade.

She's linked to Kairi because she was born from Kairi's heart, the same way Roxas was born from Sora's heart, Xemnas from Xehanort's, Saix from Isa's, Axel from Lea's, etc.

 

But thats the same ways as all Nobodies and I thought she was special because she could interfer with Sora's memories and was born in Castle Oblivion not Twilight Town. But I always thought she was born when Kairi's heart left her when it went to Sora

 

She's special because she was (supposedly) born from Sora's body and soul instead of Kairi's, but she was made FROM Kairi's heart in the same way that every other Nobody is. Namine's special in many ways, even her birth, and can only be barely classified as a Nobody, but she was born because of Kairi's heart.

As far as I know, she was made when Sora stabbed himself, not when Sora got Kairi's heart. It makes sense because if the heart is needed to make a Nobody, she wouldn't have been able to be born during the Destiny Islands scene.

Alright, to make a Nobody a Heartless needs to be made. Kairi, having no darkness, could not make a Heartless on her own. So Riku has a sleeping Kairi and Sora has her heart through KH1, no Nobody. At the end of KH1 Sora uses the incomplete keyblade to free the hearts of Kairi and the other six princesses. At this point since Sora had darkness in his heart a shadow Heartless was made. This allowed the creation of Namine and Roxas (The other six were in the keyblade so no Nobodies for them). How Sora and Kairi can exist at the same time as Roxas and Namine is a whole other can of worms which I'm addressing in your "Xemnas..." thread.

So without the ability to make her own heartless, Kairi needed to piggy back off of Sora's to create Namine. So what Riku had in KH1 was Kairi's body and soul, asleep because it had no heart.

 

Namine was created at the same time as Roxas, when Sora unlocked his heart. What Riku had been carrying around was Kairi's body, which still had her soul. The reason that she didn't turn to a Heartless like Sora did was because she is a Princess of Heart.

As mixt said, Kairi couldn't do the jig on her own, so she danced with Sora.

 

okay now I get it guys thanks. Sora's heartless created both Namine and Roxas just because Kairi's heart was with Sora when a heartless was created. Correct? Does that mean Namine's ability over Sora's memory is because of the same fact?

 

That is correct. Namine's power only works on Sora and those close to him. And it's exactly because of that. However, this means her power is only limited to that. It could be that she's able to do more, but it's not stated if she can, and it's only explained that her power works only on Sora and Co.

 

well thats one more great mystery of the game revealed for me...... one thing I wanna know though why was she born in Castle Oblivion?

 

I don't think there's really a special reason. Nobodies are supposedly born in the Realm of In Between which is where the castle and Twilight Town are. So it was likely by chance.

 

but every other Nobody was born in Twilight Town and in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days Saix told Axel that Namine was born in Castle Oblivion like Xion as if it had some significance

 

First, where did you hear that all the others were born in Twilight Town? Roxas was, but I haven't heard anything on the other 12 that I can recall.

Second, it might have significance, it hasn't been said yet. If it does then it would likely relate to Ven, but I don't know. But Castle Oblivion is an important place to them and to have such a special Nobody like Namine appear there is of course going to be noticed.

Does Castle Oblivion have any memory effects by itself?

I know Namine' has wicked powers that were the cause of isues, but does the castle do anything at all?

Eraquis said that transforming the place would lost to oblivion. And square has actually been good about the word oblivion. Many people tie oblivion to destruction when it is tied to lack of memory (it is the root word of oblivious actually). But this is all about protecting the world and Ven. So you would never find the keyhole or Ven because of some loss of memory. I assume it isn't big since the Organization would have noticed something and we see people function fine in the castle. More likely it would be simple, like when you see the door that leads to the throne you would instantly forget, thus not even really noticing it. But you aren't going to forget your childhood or anything.

 

Lemme get this right: Castle Oblivion used to be the Land of Departure, right?

I'm fairly sure that the castle has nothing to do with the memories - that seemed like it was all Namine's doing. Because if it were the castle, the same memory jig woulda happened to Axel and the others. The reason Marluxia said what he did about forgetting and remembering was because he knew of Namine's abilities as being able to manipulated Sora, Donald, and Goofy's memories.

 

But in a person the memories are stored in the heart and a Nobody doesn't have one so maybe they aren't affacted by it.....
