Nine Kingdom

Vitan watched her, but for the life of him, could not figure out any use of a dragon scale. It certainly wasn't good for any forging purposes. "How will that help you? Are you a collector of sorts?" asked Vitan, curious of the stranger.

The squad was making its way past the witnesses towards the main scene of the event. And getting closer to Suri and Vitan.

 

" Dragon scales are rare where I come from and they make a nice addition to any enchanter's inventory. When the scales are ground and brewed they can help fight off poisons if you were bit by something like a cobra. It would come in handy for the trek across the desert my master and I are taking..." Suri said as she drew her blue travelling cloak closer to her body and withdrawing her arms inside of it.

 

Vitan stood there perplexed, he had no idea how to do any of that. "Excuse me, are you a magician of sorts?" asked Vitan "And who's this master of yours? Wait, trek the desert? So you aren't from around here either!"

The main leaders of the sqaud walked past the witnesses and headed straight for Suri and Vitan.

 

" Yes I'm a magician. Though only a apprentice. You said you weren't from around here... where do you hail from?" Suri said as sandy wind brushed against the streets, making her hair and cloak flow in the wind as the streets began to crowd again only moments after the commotion.

 

"Oh no, I am from here, I meant that we have had many outsiders since this war started that there are so many people from outside the city now that it's surprising..." said Vitan to the woman "My name is Vitan, what is yours?"

Suddenly the leaders came up to Vitan and Suri "Vitan! Report! What occured here?!"

Vitan immediatly came to attention "Uh, a man was simply buying items from the market place when he was harrassed by a group of thugs, sir! I can only assume that they frightened him, so he called his dragon for protection! Upon the dragons entrance, the sheer size, mass of the creature, and wind created by its wings, it destroyed most of the market place sir!"

"Indeed..." said the Captain, seemingly unimpressed with the report. "Do you know anything about this man?"

Vitan gulped and worried, because he knew the information he was about to give would possibly lead to a chase of the man and his creature in an attempt to kill them both, and Vitan didn't want to kill the kind man who offered him food, but he had to tell the Captain. "He said he was of Serephim descent sir..."

That sentance was enough. The Captains eye's widened and he turned to the others. "Gather your men, all of you, we must hunt them down and make sure they aren't scouts for the Serephim army. We will find this man and his dragon and we shall kill them both!"

 

" My name is Suri, I come from dark forest outside of Xamia... my master has a manor there. We came out here after my Master was summoned by a peer of his..." Suri said, turning her head as she watched the guards come over. She remained quiet as they talked.

 

The captain looked around for a while. "We will need to search for any items the dragon of the man left behind and we will also have to search the city for a magician to track it. Can I entrust you to find me a magician, Vitan?"

Vitan looked at the girl unsure of what to do. He liked this girl and did not want to get her involved, but he had to. His job was on the line and he didn't know of anyone else who could do it. Plus, she had the dragon scale. "Will you help me?"

 

A messenger came up to the commander "Sir, report from the capital" he said passing a scroll to the commander.

Alastair laid comfortable under a tree in his little oasis he found outside the city, he would leave for Vision soon but he would do that at sundown. Alyssa was curled up on the other side of the Oasis resting as well.

 

Suri hesitated to answer him for a moment, wondering if it wise to go with them or not. " I'm not sure.. if my Master comes back and finds that I'm not around he might throw a fit ...but I guess I have nothing else to do right now. I can help you out..." Suri said.

 

The Captian took the paper but did not read it. "Listen, you two. I want you to find out where they are and report back at once. Do not attempt to engage them as you will be outmatched. Once you find them, you will come back here and we will gather enough troops to take them. Is that understood?"

Vitan saluted his captain "Yes sir!" and then went at ease.

The Captain walked off and began reading the report...

Vitan motioned towards Suri "Well, c'mon then, lets go."

They made there way towards the outskirts of the city. Once there Vitan asked "Now, can you use that dragon scale to track them? Which direction should we head?"

 

Suri reached into her pockets and pulled the scale out while holding it up to the sunlight. " I suppose we go this way.." Thought it was as if she could see something he couldn't. She started to walk off in a random direction in the desert with a casual manner even though the desert was full of danger.

 

Vitan nodded and began following her, trusting in her instincts. However, suddenly there was a rumble in the ground beneth them... Earthquake? No... it was so unnatural. Vitan looked back at the city and soon his face turned from normal to horror. He couldn't believe what he was seeing... It just couldn't be happening! His home! The place of his birth was that city! All the memories of his father!

 

The Saradi City erupted into flames; massive shadows covered the city as large Airships bombarded the city with powerful magic as Dragon Riders descended on those trying to escape as black smoke, the Empire had arrived. The Saradi Troops were no match for the Airships, unable to attack the ship because of the height they were decimated as the city crumbled. In less than an hour the city had fallen. From the south a large army of Seraphim soldier backed by the Free Land Nomads from the crossed the border between the two Saradi nations as a new war erupted.

Alastair was woken up by the sounds of battle in the distance, he watched from his small oasis as the city fell, his hands clenched in anger at his inability to help. “Another city” he said to himself as Alyssa laid down next him “We will wait for the airships to pass, then head to vision” he said to her as he pattered her head.

 

Suri's eyes widened as she held her hands up to her mouth. " No... this can't be happening.." Suri said, her legs feeling like they were going to give out but she tried her best to remain standing. " I hope my master got out of there before the full damage was done..." Suri said shaking slightly

 

"Suri... Now, I am almost certain that guy with the dragon was a spy of some fashion. Lead the way so we can take this guy down. He is responsible for the destruction of my home town, and I will have my vengeance!" Vitan said in a rage. His eyes were intense and sound of his voice was shaking. He wanted to go and deliver justice now.

 

" Lets find him before he gets away..." Suri said in a low voice as she stood up, her eyes hidden beneath her bangs as she walked with a solemn aura about her. " Come on lets go before anyone decides to pick us off next.." Suri said as she walked through the sand.

 

Vitan followed after her. But he was anxious to get to their destination. Vitan then ran ahead of her, speeding towards his destination as quickly as he could. "Come on, Suri. We have to get there now! Its time for some payback!" Vitan shouted. And it wasn't long before they both saw the dragon resting, and Alastair lying down nearby... Vitan wanted to surprise them, but he didn't want to kill them... not yet. Vitan wanted the man to know who killed him. Vitan swung his sword in their direction, and a powerful gust of wind came from it.

 

Drei sighed as he made his way through Vision. This definitely wasn't what he wanted to be spending time, wandering through a town looking for his friends. Still he wasn't just going to find them standing around. As he continued to walk, he pasted a monastery and stopped in front of it. "Maybe someone here has seen them." It was worth a shot, so he made his way into the monastery.

As Saradi City soon became under siege, two figures watched from a distance. "Do you think that Drei's there." The fully armored one asked. "Only one way to find out." Said the one in a red jacket. Not even waiting for his friend to response, he ran on ahead of him. "Hurry up Zwei!" "Why must you be so impatient Eins." With no other choice, he soon ran after his friend.

 

Alastair was resting under a tree when a gust of wind hit him. He stood up and brushed the sand of himself as he tried to find the source. He could see two figures approaching the small oasis. “Isn’t that the poor kid I gave the food to?” he asked himself as they got closer.

As Eins and Zewi approached the ruined city one of the many airships above noticed their approach and started launching fire based Gaia magic in their direction, it wasn’t a proper assault, more just to force them away, but if they continued approaching the city they would be killed.

 

Vitan charged at Alastair screaming at the top of his lungs. His brash and immature battle experience dictated that he attack the opponent without thinking, and without strategy. Vitan had completely forgotten about the dragon, simply focused on attacking Alastair. His foolishness was also dictating that he take actions now and ask questions later.
