Mon Amour

He ate his food quickly and got up. He whispered a thank you to Janine and helped Jamie up.

 

Achara noticed another girl sitting alone. She vaguely wondered what her story was, but didn't want to ask. All friends eventually gave up on you. She closed her notebook, got up, and walked to the entry doors. "Screw this." she muttered, walking out onto the street. She could just get in some extra hours at work. She walked down the street. She stepped into the fast food restraunt, and put on her work smock.

 

Daniel was laying against a tree holding an extra roast beef"well if Greg comes by ill throw this and see if he catches it better then he did last time" he thought about it and smiled.

 

"Meh, yeah yeah," she mumbled playfully, waving her hand.

Jamie smiled and headed to the door to the school. She was thankful she lived half a mile away.

 

He smiled and walked beside her, ready to catch her if she were to fall.

 

Jamie chuckled.
"You're so protective of me, it's not even funny," she smiled.

 

Achara worked as waitress and chashier, gettin change and such. It was boring, but better then being a cook. She leaned against the cash register, doodling again on her notebook, this time a heart with a knife through it, surrounded by a border of bleeding roses. It wasn't particularly busy today.

 

"It's because I care about you." he said, smiling.

 

She was silent most of the walk. She saw her house a few feet away and felt woozy. She hoped she wouldn't pass out when she was only a few feet away.

 

He noticed and asked "You alright?"

 

"Sweetie?" Achara's boss stood in front of her. "It's kinda slow today, so you can go. I'll give you full pay." she added. Achara considered, then nodded. See you next week then." She took off her smock, grabbed her notebook, and started walking home. She had to walk past the school again to do it. Just more excercise. she thought humoursly. One of the guys threw a sandwhich at the Greg and Jamie. She watched to see if he would catch it.

 

She nodded, then took a deep breath, falling back.

 

Greg caught her as she was falling. He picked her up and carried her the rest of the way.

 

Achara saw the other girl fall. She ran over to help. "Is she okay?" she asked Greg.

 

Daniel was laughting a little bit but stoped when he saw Jamie and he went to Greg"dude what happened to her"he asked him

 

Achara noticed the other guy come over. She thought about backing off. Greg seemed to have the situation well in hand. But.....she was a med student......Achara kept up with Greg. "I can help, I'm a med student." she said.

 

Jamie felt him pick her up and she groaned. She hated the feeling of being a burden.

 

"Take it easy." he said to Jamie. He turned to the others. "She's fine, just tired." He brought her inside and to her room.

 

She pushed away from him and stood on her own.
"I'll be fine.. Just head back to school," she said. She walked over to her bed and laid down in it, falling asleep before her head hit the pillow.

 

Achara nodded, turned, and for the second time, almost ran into Daniel. "Sorry." she said, looking up at him.
