Hhhhhhheeeeeeellllpp!!!!!

THIS IS REDICULOUS!!! I DIDN'T WANT MY PARENTS GETTING INTO MY LIFE FOR SCHOOL THIS SEMESTER AND NOW THEY'RE ALL OVER ME TRYING TO WRITE A PAPER THAT I CAN'T EVEN GET WRITTEN BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW HOW TO EVEN START IT!!!!GAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!! THIS IS SO IRRITATING!!!! AND NOW THEY'RE TRYING TO GET ME TO WRITE A 3 PAGE ROUGH DRAFT FOR THE PAPER AND I CAN'T WRITE A PAPER ON SOMETHING I DON'T EVEN CARE ABOUT!! THIS IS A PAIN IN THE ***!!!

You may as well drop out of school now because chances are you will care about the topics of 1/100 papers you write in high school/college.

well it's for American Government and I don't give a craps worth of care for it. So how am I supposed to write a paper on it? There's a link in the thread, so you can see exactly what I'm supposed to do.
And believe me, this whole semester I've wanted to drop 2 of my classes just to make it easier, so I don't stress myself out, but noooooo, my mom thinks I need these classes done now. Which I DON'T, because I still have plenty of time in high school.

And again, 95% of papers you write in your life will be about things you have no interest in.

You obviously don't know my parents. One is way to picky about papers, and the other is so nossy that I might as well put everything I do in my days up on a blog for her to see. When I finish they're going to try and read it and complain and complain about this and that and blah blah blah

Looks like you have quite a lot of time to write it too, I have a five-page paper on the rhetorical analysis of poetry and outline for a paper due Monday. Seriously dude, get used to that kind of thing because when you're applying to college almost none of the prompts given to you are fun to write about.

 

Stop complaining. If you cannot do it, then you cannot do it. If you can do it, then get it done. Do not come screaming to us about it.

Ever since I was a kid I've never bothered with the news, or anything related to government. I just didn't care for it. Nothing has influenced my decision. I. Just. Never. Cared. For. It. I can't write a paper on something that I've never had anything to do with

I really don't want to deal with any of your wise-guy posts right now. If you have nothing really helpful or even slightly helpful, than don't post. Because I really don't want to deal with it.

so how am I supposed to right an analytical paper on political socialization and how anything has influenced my view on it when I've never even cared for it since I was a child? Do you see my problem?
I've never bothered with news in my life, my family doesn't even talk about government, or when it does the conversations just fly right past me, and it's not like my friends talk about government around me.

 

As Wolfie said, you're going to have to do them whether you like it or not.
For English last year, I had to write a 10 page paper about Pride and Prejudice.
I only read 30 pages because I didn't like it that much.

But I still did the paper and somehow got an A possibly because my teacher felt bad at my twitching in creative writing the morning it was due and I was typing it

tl;dr version: You will have to write papers about things you do not care about. It's inevitable, sadly. :/

 

Do you guys think I don't know I have to write papers I don't like? I had to do that for my stupid Literature class. I know I have to write it, but I don't know how. And there lies the problem. How do I even write a paper I have no idea how to write?

Well, the essay isn't asking for your opinion, so that takes a load off your shoulders.

Look at the media from 20-30 years ago. What was in it, how is some of those advances effect who we are today?
You could even take the Internet as a possible example.
Look at how revolutionized our thought process and way we do things are because of it.

In fact, it is effecting you because you're posting on a forum on the Internet.
Just do things like that, advances in society and such, and how those were portrayed by the companies/media, and how it is today?

 

I have to take physics as a required course for my major but have never taken precalc or calc so yeah I do understand that.
However no amount of complaining will make me understand it more, I would suggest looking at some sources of whatever it is your class has discussed recently and see if anything has influenced your life whether you realize it or not. Chances are there is some influence, no matter how miniscule, because you do live in the modern times in this country.

 

would you please explain to me how a forum like this has to do with american government though? Because I don't see it. And I wasn't around 20-30 years ago. I was only born 17 years ago. And like I said, I never bothered with news of any kind. If I knew something about what was going on in Afghanistan, it would be from some random person talking about it before class, not that I cared either way. And the internet hasn't changed my opinion on american government, becuase nothing on it has ever been related to that; that I looked at anyways

well, considering this is only about chapter 5, nothing we've talked about before has to do with it. Chapter 5 is about Political Socialization, and that's what this paper is about. I read it, but nothing in it relates to me. Nothing about the views on government concerning skin color has related to me. Nothing related to race has related to me. Nothing at all

 

It is asking about the ecology of your political position, not what you actually think. You do not care about it because of how you were raised. Analytically, what led you to this position of not caring? What things kept you away from it or turned you away from it? How and why did they do so? These are the question that this paper is asking.

 

I already know that, but nothing has kept me away from the government besides myself, and that's not what he's looking for. I already know what I'm supposed to do for this paper. It's the fact that the paper itself is something that hasn't really happened in my life. I've always been by myself. Occasionaly I'll look on cnn.com to see what's going on, but it's not like it changes my opinion on things. And even then I maybe do it like once a week. I can't write a paper on how something like school or my family alienated me from the government, since I myself have never cared much for it

 

In addition, you could probably get away with at least a page of just talking about how you don't care.

Let me tell ya, I never would have gotten through English 101 if I didn't do that.

And you could always ask for help from your teacher. It's kinda his job. Just explain to him this stuff and he'll probably be able to work something out for you.
