Confusion

I've always wondered when kids reverse yes and no. If No means Yes and Yes means No, what does Maybe mean?

 

It might mean yes

 

It usually means no.

Maybe means "Shut up and ask me later."

 

I usually think a Maybe is a no or maybe if you wait and improvement comes and there could be a possible chance of yes...just my mini theory..

 

Maybe is what parents say to kids in the hope they will be satisfied and be quiet because it isn't quite no :3​

maybe technically means: 'it may be so', which sounds positve and something like a yes, but in reality... XD yeah, maybe is a like a timed bomb that will eventually end in a no BOOM! XD yay for parents, they have created the verbal bomb (no) and the verbal time bomb. those evil geniuses! XD

 

Maybe usually goes hand in hand with "Ask your mother" (if i'm asking dad) or "Ask your father" (for mom) and then i get sucked into this awful back and forth for like half an hour, with each parent telling me to ask the other.

I don't know how many times i've fallen for that.
