"Ok." Konata said. "I just wanted to ask so i can work with you for homework."

 

Leah sweatdropped. "Sorry, I haven't been to class much, so I don't really even know what the homework is..." She said.

 

"Same here." said George.

 

Leah leaned close to George and gently closed her eyes. "Bet you're dad'll be happy about this..." She muttered, gently holding his hand.

 

"I don't really care what he thinks. He disowned me, remember?" he said. "He probably wouldn't believe you anyways."

 

"True..." She said and sighed. "But I'd really rather you two not be fighting. Besides, how can he not believe me? I can't lose control at all and I have a human heartbeat... I don't even think I have fangs, anymore..." She made sure to whisper everything she said, just in case Konata were to hear. She might figure out her secret. Then again, would it matter, anymore?

 

"We've never really gotten along." he said.

 

"Yeah, but does that mean you can't start getting along...?" She asked and looked at her hands. "Trust me, it'll be a big problem in the future if you and you're dad don't get along..."

 

"I don't see why we should. We haven't ever since mom was killed." he said.

 

Leah looked at her hands and clenched them into fists. "Why don't you at least try...? It's worth a shot..." She said.

 

"Because. We are completly different. If Phil and I weren't twins, I'd think I was adopted. All dad and I do is argue. It's hopeless." he said, sighing.

 

Leah shook her head. "You lose hope too easily..." She said and looked up at him, smiling. "At least give it a chance. You may like the outcome."

 

"It's pointless Leah. He's just too stubborn. He'll want me to apologize and I'm not going to." he said. "So let's just forget about it."

 

Leah sighed. "You're stubborn, too..." She said and shook her head. "Fine. If you don't want to try, then we won't."

 

"I'm sorry Leah. I just know it wouldn't work out." he said.

 

Leah smiled. "It's okay. I just don't like to see people give up before they've even tried." She gave his hand a gentle squeeze. "But I also hate forcing people into things. If you think it's won't work out, then I won't make you try."

 

"Thanks." he said smiling. "You want me to bust you out of here?"

 

She giggled. "If you want. Though you know it'll be a while before I can walk again, right?" She said and sighed, softly.

 

"Oh." he said, looking down. "I didn't know you couldn't walk."

 

Leah saw him look down again and gently put her hand under his chin, tilting it up so he was looking at her. "Hey. No more being sad, okay?" She said and smiled, gently kissing him on the lips.
