What's Stargate?

Sorry, it's my one of my favorite TV shows. About 13 years ago, there was a movie called Stargate. A few years later, some people at MGM decided it would be cool to make a series out of it. Thus, Stargate SG-1 was born. At the beginning of it's seventh season, they made a spinoff called Stargate Atlantis. Last year, SG-1 ended, but Atlantis is still going.

Basicly, the Stargate is a large alien ring-shaped device that can transport people to other planets. The military finds the stargate, activates it, and sends a team (later known as SG-1) through. They meet a race called the Goa'uld, a big bad bunch of overdressed bad guys threatening to take over the galaxy.


And Atlantis is the lost city of a race we call the Ancients, the builders of the Stargate.
