Federal level government shutting down doesn't mean the end of the world. States would still be around, and laws there would still be upheld. That's not to say that State One and State Two are part of the same country anymore, and the amount of funding anyone would get from the federal government would no longer be around. All they are arguing about is whether or not Obamacare should be in effect? I don't see how that screws the entire existence of the country's government but ok.
