It didn't fit? Personally, I couldn't have thought of a more perfect match for her 'derp' personality. I felt her second voice made her sound more like some random dumb blonde (no offense to blonde people) rather than a lovable derp. It would be like replacing the voice of Ed from Ed,Edd,n Eddy with that of Double D. That's why I enjoy the fandubs, because they're very different from the 2nd voice (but the 1st one will always be my favorite). EDIT: Ok, I think we're going a bit off topic here. Wasn't this thread supposed to be about names rather than voices?

Now this is the part where I disagree with you. Honestly, I felt the actress they used after completely ruined her character fror me. The first voice will always be what I associate Derpy with (as well as any good fandubs out there).

Sorry about that, just copied the list from where I got the news and only checking for my local theater. Anyway, I am jealous of everyone seeing in theaters. No theater next to me is playing it on the 23rd, and the 25th won't work either because of classes... ;~;
I can list a bunch of cartoon characters from my childhood that could be mistakenly perceived as "mentally challenged." Did I think they were aimed at making fun of the mentally challenged. Nope, not back then, not today, not ever. Same with Derpy. P.S. The writer of "The Last Roundup" has a son who is actually mentally challenged. So if she was fine with the scene from the beginning, obviously there was nothing offensive to begin with.

It is unknown if what just happened there is connected in any way to the riots that happened earlier, or even to the Abductors from yesterday. What we are being told by government sources is that the battle was against what is believed to be a newly discovered Pokemon race, one that has probably thrived beneath the surface for thousands of years before reappearing today. Joining me now to discuss this possibility is Professor Augustine Sycamore, an expert on Pokemon and a professor of biology at Tokyo University. Professor Sycamore, are you there?" The broadcast was then split into two sides. The right side was showing Wolf Blitzer in the CNN Headquarters. The left side showed Professor Sycamore speaking live from his office at Tokyo University. "Yup. Thank you for having me on Wolf," Professor Sycamore replied. "Now Professor, I have to ask... do you think what was shown in the footage from Toshima actually Pokemon, or do you think the government needs to dig deeper before making that assumption?" "Well Wolf, it never really hurts to double-check, just as it never hurts to have a hypothesis as well," Professor Sycamore answered, "However, I have to say... from what I've seen of the footage, something soesn't seem quite right. There's usually a pattern I can find in the actions of Pokemon, regardless of whther they're legendary or not, vicious or peaceful, tamed or wild. What I saw from the actions of those creatures seemed like something I'd expect from a well-trained military platoon. It just felt too... organized. Not something I would expect from Pokemon." "So you're saying that those creatures cannot possibly be an undiscovered Pokemon race?" Wolf asked. "Oh no, I don't mean that. All I was saying was that their actions makes me suspicious of them being Pokemon. But I wouldn't completely ignore the possibility that they are indeed Pokemon. Pokemon are creatures full of surprises, and who knows? These creatures may turn out to be a very unique Pokemon race. But for now, the best solution would be to study any samples left by them, and then we can determine what they are," Sycamore replied. "But Professor, do you think it's possible for those creatures to have lived beneath the Earth's surface without us knowing about them?" Wolf Blitzer asked once again. "Well, Silurians lived beneath us for millenniums without us noticing," Professor Sycamore answered, laughing, "So who knows? These creatures could be distant relatives of the Silurians. But like I said, we have to analyze whatever data we can get before coming up with assumptions." "Well alright, thank you for taking the time to speak with us Professor Sycamore," Wolf Blitzer said. While the government said that those creatures were Pokemon, Skye wasn't too sure about it. After all, this was Big Brother, she thought to herself. Her distrust of the government was at an all-time high, especially after leaks of the government's surveillance programs on the citizens of Japan.
I have to disagree. Yes, at first her voice threw me off. But after replaying the game, her voice grew on me, and now I cannot imagine anyone else voicing her. Same thing happened to me with Terra.

If one of those theaters showing it on the 23rd is close to you, I would recommend calling the theater to ask for information because for some reason, the 23rd showings aren't listed on the website I linked. As for timings, I know the screenings on the 25th will show it 7:30 p.m. local time. Again, not sure about the 23rd (ask theater for info).
