Maddie muttered absent mindedly, grinning innocently as she reached out for the last red apple, her stomach growling ferociously as it tempted her to wulf it all down in a single bite. However, before she could clasp her small fingers around it, Haley dragged her away from her prize, moving over to a small, out of sight corner which she had no knowledge of before now. "W-what's this?" She quizzed her friend quietly as she proceeded to push back the wall, which seemed to make it open up into a small gap. She remained silent as it opened up, unable to accept that she did not know about this beforehand, considering her favourite place to sit down and read was in small corners away from crowds of kids.

"I can't even look after myself...I would just be a hindrance..."
