Well, I guess firstly it all depends on how the writers portray the villains like... Some of them may have even had been good characters prior to turning evil. It doesn't all depend on the outside, but what's on the inside. Even the nicest of characters have a darker side to them, and they could prove to be the most surprising villain of them all. Take for example, The Usual Suspect. The guy who's telling the story makes it look like he's the victim (through the outside with his crutch and dumb act, and through the inside with his complex story), and the whole film is based on that story he's telling the detective. However at the end you realise that he had been lying the WHOLE TIME, and that the so called "Innocent" is actually the serial killer in disguise, and that he made a very clever escape just before everything was pieced together.

With cartoons they are more likely to follow the stereotypes of evil, that the uglier/stranger character is on the outside and/or the inside, the more likely they would be able to pull off the sinful deed. You do not however, know full well for certain when you are watching thriller films.

Same... The Japanese one had much more of a Zing... His dubbed voice sounds more like he's cranky and has a sore throat... if anything.
Plus there's still the possibility of it being fake (but a really good fake edit to look realistic)...
I mean, its not the first time someone has faked something like this before, isn't it?

True... The UK just gives the money without realy seeing what its being spent on, therefore causing corruptancy amongst those who have that power, and the people in turn abuse it to their own will and buy luxurious things for themselves and/or weapons and security to protect themselves. Look at Robert Mugabe. Is he really doing anything to help the society around him?

I mean come on... The only people who live 'the rich' life in Africa are those with power. I may even use a sociological term here, but I fear that once I do I'll end up making a whole sociological debate based on homosexuality, class, ethnicity and the society. Good revision, but will take a while.

I guess its the simple fact that when some of the people that live there have their minds 'set' on one rule, they follow it and live by it regardless of the consequences... Some may say that they are timid of those with power, that if they fight back a rebellion may occur. Most of the fault sadly has to do with both Religion and Politics, as they use their institutions to control people to their own will. Take Marx's views on the Ideological State apparatus. On top of the pyramid you have Royalties (or Politicians)... Then you move down onto the Pope, then Physicians (Or White Collared workers), then the rest go afterwards. People may not have as much of a say as we do though, as they have lived their lives this way and its all they actually know about the topic. Most of them probably haven't even been out there to see how things may actually work.

Ok... I'd best stop now. Bl

Since this is the first time I've actually stumbled across this wonderful poem thread of yours, I'll be damned... I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. Your Cherry Tree poem caught my eye, and although the pattern is a tad odd, I really liked the fluidity and feel of this poem. The general feeling I get with this poem is naturey, and that you're in a calm but happy cloud where there's hope, bravery and love.
    c:

c: Wonderful poem Dalk. You gave us the audience a clear and realistic impression that you're seeing people/cities around you fall deeply into a false sense of hope and trapped by lust. The portrayal of you trying to gain a sense of justice, but feeling doubtful about yourself...
Nice one Dalk! Do continue with your wonderful poetry.

Don't forget Matt Damon xD And wow, there is quite a lot of celebrities dubbing the english versions...

I definately recommend for you to watch The Cat Returns, it is quite the fun film.
I've yet to see Nausicaa and Grave of the fireflies... I hear that they're both really good. I'm thinking of watching Whisper to My Heart first... Its the one where there's a girl who writes stories about the Cat, right? (Or at least so I was told by others)

Depends on how the character's pronounce her name... (nearly everyone says Shion [Pronounced: Shee-on] minus Axel, where he pronounces it not quite like the others...) I get the general feeling though that its pronounced Shion though.
