    Phases

I have been through many phases but most would probably just be my various obsessions.

    • My first phase was probably Johnny Depp, I would watch everything I possibly could that he'd been in when I was about 10 (including an 18 film called Blow which I hated because it was quite adult and the ending was sad for a fan of Johnny Depp). Within that was a "Pirates of the Caribbean" phase, a "Sleepy Hollow" phase etc.
    • There was also a Narnia phase where I watched it every friday night with a bag of M&M's because I fancied William Moseley and the story was magical.
    • Then there was the Kingdom hearts phase that lasted a long while.
    • Then there was a church phase where I started fancying someone very strongly at my youth group.
    • There was my emo phase that came about when my sister, whom I am very close to, left for university and I became very withdrawn and depressed and lost a lot of friends.
    • Then there was my Bleach and Death Note phase.
    • Somewhere there was my Team Fortress 2 phase where I literally played it from when I got home from school to when I went to bed.
    • Same for a Left 4 Dead 2 phase- I racked up abotu 150 hours within a few weeks of having the game... and this was during year 10 exam times.
    • And then came the phase that isn't a phase but A LIFESTYLE! >:3 Yeah, I found Doctor Who and never looked back. I wouldn't count this as a phase as I'm still going through it and will probably love this program until I die.

I love every single phase, fiction has played such a huge part in my life and I think some people underestimate how important it is to the human race. Where would we be without fiction?

Well I suppose Veterinary will be quite high but just from a google search this was the first that came up:
    http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/ugstudy/courses/biosciences/pre-veterinary-certificate.aspx
Which is 30-32 points or ABB-BBB which is more reasonable. I would say that is about the same but I have no idea how hard the course is, it's all good and well someone saying it's very hard but different people find different things difficult. If there is anyway you can look at exams/coursework or however they grade you to see if you feel its hard. Do you have any other options for what qualifications to get if you don't do the IB?

Well, at all the uni's I've looked at they offer requirements on the IB. What course are you looking to study? I am sorry, I don't know much about the IB but A levels are what's most commonly used here. Just looking at random courses it says things like 38 points or more" but I have no idea if that's high or not (that was for chemical engineering though which equivalent A level requirements is AAA which is very high).

I also agree it's up to the individual parents, this also depends on the age of the teenager because it's commonly known for teeangers to seek out porn actively for pleasure and to be honest, I don't think that always has to be a bad thing (addiction is when it gets bad or when it severely cheapens their view of women) but you said the consequences here were bad- what sort of bad?

I think there should be controls to a certain extent but the problem there is children/teens, when given a limit, will take pleasure from trying to get past it i.e. they will seek out stuff they aren't meant to just because of the barrier when they wouldn't normally. Of course this isn't true for all cases but I definitely don't think the restrictions should be overly strict as there will come a time when the child comes across all of this stuff and has to grow into the world to understand it and there is nothing any parent can do to stop it and they shouldn't.

So ultimately, I think it depends on the age of the child and the discretion of the parent.
