But I don't get why Goku would blow up the sun...I'm pretty sure he'd die instantly from the force of the supernova. As much as people like to debate about the strength of Superman and Goku, Goku undeniably has much lower durability than Superman.

And the fact that the series is aiming for that sort of thing makes it pretty unremarkable to me. I've watched Sailor Moon and Soul Eater already. I don't need another anime that seems to try combining them.

But I don't mean to say other people can't enjoy it, that's perfectly fine. Just putting out my own opinion of RWBY.

This is a complaint I just cannot understand people having. It's like they can either A) have longer periods of waiting between episodes so that they can cram together more stuff for a single, longer episode or B) go about it the way they are now with shorter episodes that air every week.

And yeah, animation's a ***** indeed. Even just working with WORDS can be so time-taking.

Based on the popular Platinum Games title, Bayonetta will be adapted into an anime collaboration between Sega and Gonzo, known for such anime as Rosario + Vampire, Witchblade, and Samurai 7.

"Decent" writing that "does the job" doesn't do it for me when it trying to give a damn about the plot or characters.

I don't have to be reminded how cliches aren't instantly a sign of bad writing lol. They exist for a reason. As I've said, I don't mind cliches, so long as writers don't almost solely rely on them, but unfortunately, the latter is how I feel about RWBY.

As I've said before in the RWBY thread, I went into this expecting things like decent writing, an intriguing story, and a low amount of cliches (which I only hate when they're overused in a work of fiction) compared to genuine surprises.

My thoughts exactly. I was super excited for the series when I first heard of it, since I'm a big fan of Monty's pure-action tributes. They didn't try to be deep or have arcs, they were meant to simply show cool battles, and they excelled at that.

But having watched 9 episodes so far, the hardest thing to do is be interested in these characters, with lackluster writing and cliches-bonanza (a few are ok, this much is just annoying.)

I've said plenty more in the thread for RWBY at the Movies and Media section.

But just because it's out of character and immensely improbable (if impossible), it doesn't mean we can't have some fun comparing the abilities and feats of fictional characters, or does it?

Key word though, fun. I myself have probably messed up on that part.

    Batman. Was. Not. Winning.

And dominating? I'm sorry but if you consider getting kicked in the face as a character being dominated, that's just nonsensical. Superman held back that entire fight. Just because he wasn't actively trying to kill/injure Batman doesn't mean he was at a disadvantage. Had he wanted to, Batman would be a smear against the concrete. Batman, on the other hand, couldn't dream of harming the guy any more than a few cuts and a broken sweat, while he himself already had a crushed wrist, broken ribs, and plain ol' age.

And just because Frank Miller, someone who constantly enjoys writing Superman as a government tool, wrote a line of dialogue in which Batman proclaims himself a victor, doesn't mean Batman was actually able to beat a Kryptonian in a fist-fight (with Green Arrow's help and some prior fatigue from dispatching nukes, at that.)

I love Batman. I prefer him to Superman. I read The Dark Knight Returns years ago. I even had a God damn Batman snuggy. But he would not be able to beat Superman.

Depending on the writer, he's either got an average intellect, or he's a supergenius.

Either way, as a Kryptonian, his brain is faster at processing information than humans.

But still, Batman is a better strategist overall. He has to be to make up for a lack of superpowers.

Batman most certainly did not win even that fight.

In the terribly written sequel (no seriously, I read 10 of its pages and it sounded like a bad fanfic), Batman did win, with around a decade of preparation and the assistance of three superheroes, but it's considered non-canon anyway.
