Flinging open the wide doors, Xabet found himself to be just outside the entrance of a large, oddly designed castle, which rested in the middle of seemingly nowhere. A long, blue stone path extended out before him, which did not appear to lead anywhere. "Oh man," he sighed, running a hand through his hair. "This is nuts. Where am I supposed to go?" Without warning there was a sudden swirl of darkness and three beings appeared before him. The had silvery, flexible bodies and no visible faces, and seemed to almost flow through the air. Each one was surrounded by a sickly dark glow. What are these things? thought Xabet in a panic, backing up slowly. He cried out as one of them lunged at him, throwing his arm in front of his face to defend himself...and was surprised when a blade extended out of his coat sleeve, impaling the creature in the head, which promptly caused it to dissolve into nothingness. Xabet was shocked, and looked up to see the other two beings preparing to strike. Steeling himself, he leapt first, sliding a second blade out of his other sleeve to slice both of them in half. As they faded, he pulled back his sleeves to reveal the blades were strapped to his wrists by some contraption. Sweet, he thought. But how did I know how to do that? Shrugging it off, he decided to concentrate on getting out of here, and finding out what those things were. An image flashed in his mind to of a cloaked figure raising a hand and create a swirling portal of darkness in the air, then it was gone. Could I do that? Deciding it couldn't hurt to try, he raised his hand and pointed in front of him, concentrating as hard as he could on being somewhere, anywhere, than here. He was shocked when a portal appeared in front of him, not made of swirling darkness, but of light. Bracing himself, he stepped into it and vanished.

When I said he maintained original form, I meant the same basic structure, as opposed to a Shadow or something. Ansem looked quite different from Xehanort and had many wierd abilities too. I was under the impression that there are two ways of a person becoming a Heartless- An individual falls into darkness, or their heart is forcibly taken by another Heartless. It is true that Pete said Scar became a Heartless due to anger and jealousy, and these are dark emotions. I think emotions are the key to becoming a Heartless. He has already murdered his brother and attempted to murder his child nephew (believing he was successful), and the whole of the Pridelands is rotting under his rule, which seems to me like he is falling into darkness. And for all we know, Scar could have been using powers of darkness off-screen to control the various Heartless that attacked Sora and co in the Pridelands. I agree that he did not become one willingly, but I doubt many who become Heartless do. After all, the countless Pureblood Heartless out there were people just like him who fell into darkness. And I think Scar's Ghost isn't what it appears to be- its not actually part of him at all. Groundshaker is made up of many of these things- how can someone have more than one ghost? I think that maybe Groundshaker had some ability where it could see into a persons mind and conjure an image that will weaken their heart so they are easier to consume, and chose Simba as a target. And just because Pridelands will not be a world in 3D doesn't mean it won't be featured in a later game. Besides, if Scar's Nobody is powerful (which I think it would be considering the strength of his Heartless) it could just Dark Portal to whatever world.

As we all know, Scar became a Heartless during the first Pridelands story. A few topics have been posted over the years about how surely he must also have a Nobody out there somewhere that may be encountered in future games. But here is something else I'm surprised no one else noticed. Scar maintains his original form after becoming a Heartless. The only other being to do this that we know of is 'Ansem' SoD. He also, like 'Ansem', retains the ability to speak (Battle quotes such as 'Bow to me!' when fighting him), which seems to indicate he is not a mindless heart-harvester like other Heartless, and still maintains his own thoughts. So, what made Scar special enough to achieve this? 'Ansem' contained the hearts of two very strong-willed, powerful Keyblade Wielders within him, which may have contributed to this. What does Scar have going for him in this regard?
As far I'm aware he turned to darkness enough to allow 'Ansem' to possess him, but not enough to become a Heartless himself. And later on when he uses the powers of darkness to apprehend Roxas, his appearance changes but he keeps enough control to avoiding succumbing to the darkness. Using darkness does not automatically make you a Heartless, or all the Disney Villains would have been Heartless long ago.
Well, that is most certaintly amusing. I can assure you if I was Kira I would have given him a much more bizzare death. I'll wait until more evdence is available to accuse.
