Sora turned around, getting into a position so that Kairi could get on his back. "Ready," he said, bracing himself for the pain that he would surely feel when she put her weight on him. However, he didn't mind; he was willing to go through much more pain than what he was about to feel for Kairi's sake.
"Yup," Sora said with a nod, keeping the same optimism in his voice. He knew Kairi was concerned about his injuries, but he could put up with some extra soreness if it meant getting Kairi home where she could relax. It was something that he wanted to do, and surely Kairi knew that once he made up his mind, it couldn't be changed.
Sora nodded once, seeing that Kairi was ready to go. "How about a piggy-back ride?" he asked, his tone light so that he was putting a more positive spin on things. "It's been a while since I gave you one of those." He couldn't recall the last time that he had done such a thing for her, and it actually made him a little sad to think about it. However, he wasn't going to think about that now.
Sora helped pull Kairi to her feet, the teen careful to keep an eye on her so she didn't get too dizzy and fall back down. He kept his gaze on her but gently withdrew his hand so that she could put on her coat; he wasn't going to risk her getting sick with a cold in the weather.
Sora saw the shyness in Kairi's eyes, which made a reassuring smile appear on his lips. He took a step forward and bent down a little bit, taking a hold of Kairi's hand so that he could help her rise to her feet.
Sora finished with his second shoe after a few moments and grabbed his coat off the ground, the brunet rising to his feet and putting on his coat at the same time. His hand moved to the zipper and he pulled it up halfway before his eyes wandered to the girl on the floor.
"Yup," Sora said, noticing how Kairi diverted her gaze. He took a few steps away and bent down in the hallway, getting down on one knee as he put on his sneaker on the other foot, the teen thinking as he performed the action. He had originally planned on walking Kairi home, but obviously she couldn't walk too far. That left him with one other choice, which was carrying her.
Sora stood up and took a few steps to the hallway, picking up Kairi's shoes and coat first. He set them by her side, his bright blue eyes wandering to hers. She definitely needed to get home; she was really weak from the Realm of Darkness. He hated to see Kairi struggling with this, but it couldn't have been changed.
Sora kept his arm wrapped around Kairi's lower back as he lowered both of them down towards the ground, the brunet making sure that she was sitting before he withdrew his arm from behind her. He was concerned about her, and he was sure that it showed through his eyes.
Sora had figured as much, judging by how Kairi had managed to make it to the door and then stop. He kept an arm around her, his eyes staying on the girl he loved. "Sit down," he encouraged softly. He wouldn't bother helping her back to the bed; she could put on her shoes and coat here and then he would take her home.
Sora dropped the shoes and the coats, taking two quick steps forward. He gently brought her hand off of her forehead and wrapped it around his shoulders, his other arm findings its way around her lower back. "Easy..." he said, seeing how dizzy she appeared. He kept his eyes on her, his concern growing by the second.
Sora walked through the hall and turned to look into his bedroom, the teen stopping dead in his tracks when he saw Kairi standing a few feet away from the door. "Kairi?" he asked without thought, concern appearing in his eyes. She really didn't look good.
Sora grabbed his and Kairi's shoes after he had their coats over his arm, the brunet having a firm enough grip on the footwear that he didn't lose his grip on them. He then started towards his room again, reentering the living room and going towards the hallway.
Sora nodded once, realizing by Riku's reaction that he understood what was going on. He was sure that Riku didn't have any questions or anything that he was going to say aloud, so he started for the foyer, where Kairi's shoes and coat were.
"She's feeling pretty weak," Sora responded, easily picking up the concern in his best friend's voice. Riku may have acted like a tough guy sometimes, but when he was worried about his friends, he couldn't really hide it.
Sora walked through the hall and into the living room, seeing Riku still watching the television. "Kairi isn't feeling well," he informed Riku, the teen pausing in the living room to tell him what was up. "I'm going to take her home." It was a few blocks walk, which he hoped that Kairi could handle.
Sora nodded faintly, the weak smile staying on his lips. He turned and started for the doorway, trusting that Kairi would wait for him to return with her shoes and coat. He hoped she wouldn't try to go out to the living room and meet him halfway; that wouldn't have turned out well, since she was feeling so weak.
The Final Toast- Hawk Nelson
I love listening to music from Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. I have music from FFVII and FFX on my computer, as well as a few FFX-2 pieces and KH and KH2 selections. I often find that my favorites, though, are the character themes. Roxas's is one that I find especially moving, and I always wish that it was longer than what it is. Yuna's Ballad from FFX-2 is also a masterpiece that I can never stop listening to. Seriously, the composition is amazing.
Sora kept his faint smile on his lips as he pushed himself up, though his eyes stayed on Kairi. "How about I go get your coat and shoes? I'll take you home," he offered. She didn't look like she was in any condition to walk by herself, or at all. He would be happy to take her to her house, where she could rest and fully recover.
