I've tried a bunch of Joker'd codes, and none of them have ever worked for me. I'm certainly doing something wrong, but what I'm doing now is turning off Valor Form for Timeless River and changing there, which isn't as good as Jokering would be, but is still much more convenient than restarting the game.
So, there seem to be two different Soras-On-Carpet: there's the one you use to chase fake Jafar and fight Genie Jafar, and there's the one you use the escape from the tower. The first one is pretty much just normal sora, but on a carpet. It follows his growth abilities and equipped actions; you can cast magic and use finishers. The second one is a very fixed "minigame" Sora-On-Carpet, which more or less ignores your equipped abilities.
If they literally made an entirely separate character, then made that character inherit all of normal Sora's current equips, that'd make me sad.
That said, do you know what the address is for that character? At the very least I can mess around with it.
Ahaha, yeah, I know Valor Form sucks, that's the point of the run. I've done many level 1 runs and beaten Marluxia; I'm just trying something weird. Wheel spin is dodgable, but I don't know about the last hit of scythe throw (strictly for valor form I'm talking about). It might be parryable, but that timing would be rough.
I did a test run with non-level 1 Valor Form, and I was really surprised as to how small the number of undodgable attacks were. In the required part of the game, I think the only one is Demyx's homing water pillar, but you can manipulate him pretty easily to not get a chance to use that.
You can check out my progress here if you'd like. I have recordings up to Oogie Boogie, which I'll be uploading soon.
Is there a way to force the wheel DM instead of the scythe throw one, then? I'd all but given up on doing Marluxia at level 1 with valor form, since I think scythe throw is undodgable (could be wrong but I'd be surprised).
Will check out your proud mode videos when I get the chance.
The run will have some holes in it, the current wishlist of codes is as follows:
- Valor Sora can do Lion Sora's RCs (graphical irregularities/t-stancing is fine). Without this Valor Form cannot beat Groundshaker.
- Valor Sora on carpet.
- Sora can drive while on carpet. This is for the section that has both the magic requirement and fighting.
- Valor Sora can change equipped keyblades when he is set to replace normal Sora (a convenience thing since I can switch keyblades by turning off cheats, switching, saving, and turning them back on).
Hopefully someone can glean some entertainment from these. Will probably be uploading videos in batches instead of one at a time.
I've tried to produce high quality videos, but any feedback on audio/video quality is welcome. The audio occasionally buzzes, but that's PCSX2, and there's not much I can do.
Oh man, sorry for the delayed response. Bla bla bla work bla bla bla no time for kh2 bla bla bla.
So, I started a non-level 1 Valor-only test run to see if there would be any technical difficulties. Up until timeless river, everything went pretty much perfectly (Valor form T-stances on death, which is lulzy). However, as soon as I entered timeless river, I was kicked out of valor form, and, presumably because I have no allies, I could not get back in. I'm guessing this is because the code you supplied replaced normal Sora with Valor, but not timeless river Sora? And I'm guessing the same thing will happen when I enter Tron or Halloween Town.
I could not find alternate codes to replace other characters in the first post, though I could have missed them. It'd be spectacular if I could replace Roxas/DW Roxas/Red Clothes Sora to create the true Valor-form only experience. Although I wonder what would happen if I attempted to become Valor Form before I'd acquired the Star Seeker.
Thanks a bunch for your help so far.
Edit: Ooh, a bit of a game changer: the game hard locks whenever I try to switch my equipped keyblade.
In other news, looks like I can switch keyblades by turning off cheats, which is a bit of a time sink, but oh well.
Edit the 3rd: Got Space Paranoids working. I'm now looking for way to change Sora on Carpet in Agrabah. Even though Agrabah is set to Valor, it's still normal Sora on Carpet.
It'd also be convenient to have an "allow driving while on carpet" code, since that's the second place in the game that absolutely requires magic.
I would like to do two things, preferably in unison. I am using PCSX2.
1. I would like to play through the whole game without any allies. Presumably there are certain places where that is impossible (MCP, Xemnas 2, maybe Barbossa?), but I'd like to get as close as possible.
2. I would like to play through the whole game (at least once Sora gets new clothes) in any form "permanently". So I'd run the whole game as Master Form, for example, even in places where that would normally not be possible, like the 1000 Heartless fight (obviously Atlantica, Pride Lands, and many minigames could be ignored). It'd be ideal if I wouldn't have to drive after each character reset point (world map or character walk-around areas), but it's fine if it's not, as long as I have a "no anti-form" cheat as well.
So yeah, the goal is to be able to do something like a "Solo Final Form" run, where I'm in Final Form as I get new clothes, and do every possible forced fight that way.
