    ps2 imports on ps3 help?

    Hey! i'm getting a ps3 soon and i was wondering if there were any alternatives to playing ps2 imports. my old ps2 is in its final days, its getting all old and burning up inside (seriously!). So i want to know if theres something better than keeping the ps3 open or the "swap switch". maybe like a program or something? all opinions and facs apreciated.
