[OOC: Yo dawg check out all this catching up. My B. Work's hard mang.]
Jed may have arrived and greeted everyone, but he could tell that they were all occupied for the most part. Which was fine, he didn't really like being the center of attention. There were multiple conversations happening, and he listening to what he could from each one. Somewhere in his head, involuntarily the tones and lilts of each person's voice were being stored.
It wasn't like he was going to go out and steal their life, he just couldn't help it.
One girl was on the floor working on one of the stools. She introduced herself as Teagan. It was quite a nice name.
He was still listening as one person, a woman, who had been drinking by the looks of the tequila bottle and shot glass, spoke to Rosalie.
"So um, Rosalie-" she cleared her throat, "are you planning on opening this place up? I mean, it's beautiful."
"If you do, then I'll help." Another young man added.
"She'll need to get some legal stuff attended to first."
Jed frowned slightly. Legal matters were really nothing when it came to them. The law wasn't Jed's moral code. It wasn't even something he bothered to pay much attention to. His ethics lay in nothing more than being a decent person.
Jed smiled to himself and slipped behind the bar counter, inspecting everything. It was kind of dusty, although the woman had been right to call it beautiful. Jed saw a cooler and reached inside for a bottle of water. He sipped from it and looked at the others in the bar. It was quite an odd group gathered, he had to say. Not that he could talk.
"Yeah- I want to open it."
This made Jed grin widely, looking up at Rose from his bent position behind the bar counter. Then as suddenly as Rosalie had admitted she wanted to open the bar up, she was leaving. Jed nodded at Rose as she left the bar, throwing a mock salute at her just as she exited. He didn't speak much to the others, not that he had the time but. He still felt a little guilty that he arrived late and then never said a word.
He'd get over it eventually though. Or so he hoped.
Anyway, now was not the time to be feeling remorseful. Jed set his bottle of water down on the bar, on a coaster of course. He rubbed his hands together, and began to assess his new project.
It was time to get things done around here, especially if it was going to be opening.

It was entirely his fault, and Jed would admit it readily. But it was still extremely silly on his part.

    He got lost.

He had to ask several people how to get to the street the bar was on, as he hadn't actually been there yet. Jed had talked to Rose about it for days before she had even bought the place, but she refused to give out the address until everyone else got it. Which was just fine for Jed. Problem was he forgot to mention how bad his lack of an internal compass was.

He really didn't want to call her and ask, he was already so embarrassed, plus she was probably already meeting with the other's and he'd be an interruption. Jed was more than a little flustered. He needed a smoke.

As he walked down the street Jed reached into his pocket and flicked open the self-igniting zippo, the cigarette he always kept tucked behind his ear already in between his fingers. Jed inhaled deeply and kept walking at a fast pace, tucking some hair behind his ear.

He was excited, definitely. Other people like him and Rose. Truth be told he had always thought there were other people out there with powers, the problem was finding them. And now an opportunity like this comes along, seemingly out of nowhere. It was wonderful. Jed couldn't help but smile a bit as he took another drag from the cigarette.

Finally he rounded one last corner and noticed the numbers on the buildings, following them all the way down to a nice looking outside sitting area. He peeked surreptitiously into the multicolored glass. Rose was there, moving bottles around. In relief Jed exhaled quietly, "Oh good,"

Jed quickly dropped his lit cigarette and stepped on it with a worn tennis shoe. He knew how much Rose would dislike him smoking inside. The glass door opened smoothly and he slipped inside, smiling at everyone inside and saying bashfully, "Hi everyone. Sorry I'm late."
