It seems that you have a lot of options open to you and most likely are very gifted :P

So.. even if your writing goes unsuccessful (where I hope it succeeds of course), you will have plenty to fall back on.

I think at the end of the day, your parents are there for you in your childhood years but when you get older, you are making your own decisions and stuff right? So you should be doing what you want without having to worry about what other people think or want, even if it is your mother :s

That is just my opinion anyway, I got a little pressure on me atm and I think i'll go into teaching too.. But only because i am lazy :P
