Kurt awoke. He had fallen asleep at his computer... and was now 50+ kilometers from nothing in his game. He felt his forehead. There was an indent of several keys. Kurt showered, and dressed, and went out to the town. He bought food for himself and the cat, and a few other incidentals.

Once he arrived home, he fed the cat, stretched out, and started running. An hour later, he had gotten back to the dorm. Going inside, he stretched again, and walked down to the auditorium to buy tickets for opening night. He bought the tickets, and started walking home. Just then, he got a phone call.

"What? Mom's in the hospital? I'll be there as soon as possible."

He ran in to the dorm, tossed a few days of clothing into a bag, grabbed the cat and food, and tossed them all in the car. A moment later, they were on their way to Seattle.

Neko was happy. Loud-Two-legged-one had burst through a door, letting him in.
"Wah wah wah wings wah wah curb blargh the sink wragh head blargle wahgh fwerb four or so days..."

The cat wandered about, sniffing. He wandered up to One-Eye-Fast-Two-Legged-One, and pulled at his shoelace. He said, "Ack" to the two-legged-one, and then he went to find a good hiding spot from which to ambush Kurt. Flitting from shadow to shadow, he found Electronic-Smell-Two-Legged-One by a bank of movey bits on a board. He hopped up on the board, accidentally pushing several of the movey bits around. He then hopped down, spotting Kurt. He ran beneath the seats of the auditorium, silently. Drawing a bead on Kurt's arm, resting upon the seat in front of him, he leapt...

"WAAUGH!" shouted Kurt, as a grey torpedo hit his arm. Instinctively, he caught the cat in his arms. "Neko, you have to stop doing that!" he said, starting to laugh. Neko curled up upon Kurt's lap. Kurt decided he might as well watch the rehersal. He realized that opening night was Christmas, which was but a few days away... too little time for him to help out. So far... he had identified a teacher, who was apparently helping run the production, Aidan, who was apparently an extra, and a few others from yesterday he didn't know. There was also a rather loud one who was ranting something about... Groucho Marx's mustache? What? Kurt was confused. He had thought Karl Marx was clean-shaven, though Karl Marx would better fit a few of the words of this disheveled, wet-faced man... Was he high? Kurt couldn't tell.

Sorry, I thought there were two weeks. I guess Kurt'll just hang out in the audience...

Still getting the hang of time in the roleplay. Conducting conversations are particularly difficult.

After looking around in the normal hiding spots for a cat, Kurt looked around for a leaflet, flyer, anything to tell him more about the play. He had heard mention about it, but hadn't bothered to find out anything about it as of yet. After he had found none, he walked back to where the others were standing. Kurt said to Aidan, "Do you know anything about the play, by any chance?"

The cat, meanwhile, was on an adventure. Thus far, he had wandered past two of the Two-legged Ones' large black paths, one thing-that-bubbles-water, and a pair of Two-legged Ones... biting eachother's mouths? He'd never understand them. Before him lay a large building... Two-legged One Kurt had just gone in. Neko decided to hunt him. Now, to find a way inside...

Kurt was looking around, and thinking. Perhaps this play would be fun to take part in... to find out about the others here. I wonder where the cat is, too. What happened to the mute girl who hurt her hand? He'd have to find out more information about her. She was certainly intriguing. So was Saraphina, for that matter, but she wasn't very nice... Perhaps she was the reason the mute one had left so quickly?

I guess I'll take Extra 4, as soon as my character finds out about the signup sheet.

Kurt meandered into the auditorium, his guitar on his back. The blasted cat had gotten out.

Just then, he saw a fight nearly start. He walked over.

"Have you seen my cat? He's about this long, dark grey with black tabby markings, fond of high places and potted meat?"

Kurt was standing outside the dorm, an extension cord trailing inside, his amp next to him, his guitar over his shoulder. He inhaled the cold air, and smiled. He loved wintertime. It was the only time it was cold enough. For a second he paused. He probably looked odd, standing in the snow, wearing only a t-shirt, cargo pants, shoes and a guitar.

He let out a deep breath, his head hanging. His right arm raised, no pick visible. His left arm prepared...

Snapping his head back, he let his arm fall, loosing one of the most well-known riffs in history. He let the music sweep through him, the classic sounds being driven loudly through the amp and head at his back.

"I'm gonna write a little letter, gonna mail it to my local DJ..."

It was late. Kurt fed his cat, and brushed his teeth.

After that, he spent half an hour checking various messages, and replying to a forum roleplay. By then, it was 10:20.

He fell asleep, his cat next to him. As he drifted off, he realized his computer was still on... but he'd get to that in the morning.

Kurt stuck his hand out to Aidan. "I'm Kurt."

The other man was certainly British. Kurt wondered what he did here.

Kurt's mind then began to wander. Perhaps he could find out about the musical the sign on the window had mentioned. Later, he'd definitely take his guitar down to the practice area and work on perfecting his latest piece.

Kurt saw the mute girl come back in, and saw her hand. It looked like a lamp had hit it, to be sure.

He said, "I don't think there's a nurse here, because it's winter break, but I do know basic f-first aid... D-do you want me to t-take a look at it?"

He realized he had been stuttering and mumbling again. This wasn't a situation he was completely comfortable with. He diverted his mind to figuring out what would need to be done. He'd need to sterilize a pair of tweezers and a small knife... the one in his pocket attached to his multitool would do. He'd also need fresh bandages, and some sort of liquid antiseptic. He'd also need a flashlight... and he realized he had left his in his room.

Kurt said, "Should I get aspirin?"

Not knowing how to react, he decided to continue acting normally. He was a bit confused with the other girl, who was blithely going on about how she loved singing... something Xara would not be able to do. It didn't seem nice.

"...or... yeah..." he finished lamely. He honestly didn't know what to think or say. He was much more comfortable with a guitar or computer keyboard than people, and already felt like he didn't fit in.

    TIME: December 20th, 1/4

Kurt woke up with a cat looking in his face, both his paws on top of Kurt's mouth. As soon as Neko was sure Kurt was awake, he walked over to his metal food dish, and started tapping it with his paw, causing it to ring. Kurt got up, fed the cat, changed, and walked down towards the cafeteria.

About half way, he realized he forgot to put on his shoes. He walked back, accidentally let the cat out without noticing, got his shoes, and went back to the cafe.

At the cafe, he got a mint tea (brewed black -- or at least, really dark green), and some food. From his seat, he could see a girl who was obviously in pain. She looked nice, too... He got up, walked over, and said, "A-are you ok?"

WEARING: Do you really need to ask?
    MOOD: Sleep-deprived
    LOCATION: Office

Kurt drove up to the dorms. His old beater Civic hatchback gave two coughs, and stopped. Hopefully, it would start again. He winced as he reached to unbuckle. Along his arm and head were several long scratches.

His cat meandered up to the front set, pushed in onto his lap, and curled up, purring. "So now you decide to be nice, Neko." Neko looked up at him, went "Ack", and continued purring. "Next time, I'm putting you in a crate." The cat gave him a bemused look. Kurt carefully moved the incorrigible feline, got out of the car, and stretched, rubbing his eyes. He opened the door to the dorm, and went up, opening the door to his room.

Going back to the car, he scooped up his cat and his backpack, and as quietly as he could, ran up to his room and put the cat in. He didn't want him to escape... Stepping in, he changed, and fell onto his bed. He was asleep before he remembered to take his glasses off.
