I seriously can't type this fast enough. This movie was freakin' amazing! Fans of Harry Potter rejoice, as its equal has been found. Seriously. I can imagine myself fangirlig over this as much as I ever did HP, going to all the TMI movies, etc.

I've been a fan of this book series for years, and honestly... I went into it a little skeptical. But not only did this movie meet my expectations, it surpassed them. It. Kept. Every. Major. Plot. Point. And. More! Right now, book readers across the world are rejoicing with me for this sentence. When does that ever happen, right? But not only that, but the two major changes they did make to the movie, I thought were a good overall choice to fit in with it, and bring audiences up to speed. This. Is. One. Of. The. Best. Book. To. Screen. Adaptations. That. I. Have. EVER. Seen!

This movie- I can't get over it. I can't stop thinking about it! It did everything right, and I can't wait to go see it again! It just IS TMI, you know? You get the same feelings you get from reading it, the actors are phenomenal and really embody the characters, and the characters are written so well!

That's another thing about this movie: the characters were written spectacularly! I've been drawn to tears many times by Clary's plight, but this movie made it real, painful, and bold. AS IT SHOULD BE. First and foremost, this is a story about characters and who they are, what drives them, and how they deal with everything that happens to them, and really...what else can you ask for at the end of the day? Characters make a movie and if you don't have good ones, no matter how great your plot is, it'll inevitably be lackluster.

And the girl power! Clary, Izzy, Jocelyn: you three rock! If I were ever in a fight, I would want you all on my team. ALL of the girls in this movie are BA, and I think that's quite an accomplishment, seeing as how Jocelyn's unconscious for most of the movie. XD

The fight scenes: Rest assured everyone, that this movie is NOT and will never be another Twilight. The fight scenes were just great. Honestly, though I've read all of the books in the TMI series (and much more than once), I never understood just how intense and dark some of these things got. But man, do I have a new outlook on it all now! They were choreographed well, the Shadowhunters looked like they knew what they were doing, but were also fighting for their lives, Jace was as reckless as ever, and Clary was not a damsel (thank the heavens, because some of us were worrying about that, from the way the trailer was cut together), but rather a true heroine, and-

Man, is this movie dark. And though it is darker than the books, I'm actually okay with it. Otherwise, I think Clary's journey would have been discredited. And honestly, the life of a Nephilim IS terrifying, and I'm glad they showed that here. That's not to say there's no humor, though. There are a TON of great lines from the book (via Jace and Simon's wit), and the movie does a good job balancing it all out. And doesn't take itself as seriously as the Twilight movies did, sadly (when the books never did, and were more light and funny).

Also, about the romance: Yes, there are hints of it in this, but try and name one story where there isn't any. At the end of the day, this is just a side plot, and everything else far outweighs the shipping. And when there is hints of romance in the movie, it's done well and concisely.

And Jace and Clary... sparks will fly. Wow. For once, a book to movie adaptation is behind the right ship!(coughTheHarryPotterMoviesShippedHarry/HermioneAndTheTwiMoviesShippedJacob/Bellacough) 'Dat greenhouse scene is... Just listen to this song, and you'll imagine what I mean www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8av_4….

And oh boy, am I glad they made the characters older for the movie. Jace and Clary's makeout scene is already somewhat steamy, and I can only imagine how it will be in later books, like CoFA, CoLS, and even that one segment of CoG... Plus, it just makes sense for them to be older, since we never saw the at school in the books at all. LOL.

Another thing: Simon and Clary was done so well. At the heart of it, these two are best friends no matter what, and will always be there for each other. Yes, Simon has feelings for Clary, but they want what's best for each other, and it isn't just about the love triangle for them. Their interactions were so pure and genuine, and honestly, it was one of my favorite aspects of the film. They did such a good job with the two of them, and I could really see them geeking out about anime if the movie had allowed it.

If I have to pick one complaint about this movie, it would have to be SPOILER...

When Valentine was beating Jace to a pulp, and almost killed him. I can overlook the other ways they portrayed Valentine, but that right there: No. Just no. It's completely OOC, as Valentine truly loves his son. Remember how he reacted to a certain part in CoG? Yeah. I couldn't imagine the Valentine in the movie reacting that way. At All. I get why they did this, but I do hope they dial it back in future installments. Valentine is supposed to be trying to get Jace to join him, not kill him. And, you know, Jace is supposed to actually love his father, and therefore be conflicted about his allegiances. Anyway...

    SPOILER DONE

Anyway, with all of that, I think I'll leave my ridiculously long review as is. And all of the people who have worked on this movie: Just thank you. You have done a beautiful job, I can't wait to see City of Ashes (opening night!), and thanks for giving me something new to obsess over again[IMG] (I needed that, after finishing the GoT books). You really have painted a beautiful world, that I truly believe everyone should embrace and see. Thank you. And, yes. If there were ever any doubts before, people, without a doubt: Jaime is out Jace [IMG]

Eagerly awaiting the release of The City of Ashes movie, and The City of Heavenly Fire book.

    -Shanna

P.S. What was you guys' thoughts and favorite part? Mine has to be when Jace and Clary get into that fight after their first kiss, as it's so them. They're a very on-again-off-again couple, and I actually love that about them. Plus, I always liked Jace's lines like, "In the future, Clarissa, it might be wise to mention that you already have a man in your bed to avoid such tedious situations," and Clary's, "Stop acting like nothing hurts you!" line. Anyway...

Oh my gosh, I'm just now seeing this. I'm so sorry I didn't reply before, but I've been so, so busy!

Anyway, I'll try to post a link of my TWEWY clips after work. And how do I tell what the resolution of my video and framerate is? Sorry for the dumb question, but I'm not too tech-talk savvy. LOL.

Once again, I apologize profusely on not replying before, and will hereby try and keep up to date with everything going on in this vid project:)

@Stardust Thank you for allowing me to use TWEWY footage ^_^ How would you like me to go about showing you my clips' quality? Should I post some of it on mediafire and link it here or something?

Anyway, thanks again! I'll be keeping my eye open for the song selection thread. Any idea how long it'll be until it's posted?

Ironically, I just started a new gmv! I'd love to join you guys, but there's just one thing.... My video is of The World Ends With You (and some 3D clips of the TWEWY characters). Is that allowed? They are in KH now...

Anyway, if my video's allowed, I'd be more than happy to join. Sign me right up:) I can't wait to see just what everyone comes up with!

kh-vids was the first online community I was ever part of. It has been invaluable with giving me clips to edit with, keeping me up to date with KH, keeping me entertained (with podcasts, fan dubs, the top five etc.)... this site is just amazing in general. It's one of the nicest communities I've ever stumbled upon, and I'm glad to be a part of it.

2011 was a great year. And I thank the staff for all their hard work. May 2012 be even better. We have 3D on the way, the KH ten-year anniversary, KH3, the mystery game, BbSV2 (possibly). I, for one, can't wait to see what the new year brings. And I'll be happy to share the experience with all of you.

So, I'm sure you know this, but there are new scans featuring new Dream Eaters, and one with Esmeralda.

Also, is someone telling Phil Snyder he's in the game? He might know now, but you might want to tell him to be sure. He's going to be so happy. Ironic that 3D will have more of Pinocchio like he wanted. LOL.

Days: One of My Favorite Kingdom Hearts Games

Oh, Days... sometimes I feel like I'm the only one that appreciates you.

Yep. I'm a huge fan of this one. And I don't get why everyone hates it. I, personally, think Xion is a great character. She's one of the females (and yes I consider her that for many legitimate reasons) I can look up to (like Aqua). While I love Kairi and Naminé, Kairi doesn't do much. And Naminé is used a lot. And I don't think she always knows right from wrong.

But, yes, Xion is a strong female character that's very dynamic. She can be fun, sweet, sarcastic, sad, angry, selfless, enduring... she has a lot of great traits. And she fought against a future she didn't want. She didn't allow things to go to pieces between herself, Roxas, and Axel.

Despite the bad, the three of them always returned to each other and had each other's backs. That's the kind of friendship that's mentioned a lot in KH, but we don't always see it. This is one of the many reasons why I love Days. It wasn't so much that they had fatal flaws, but fate itself was flawed. No matter what they did, they always would have had a sad ending. For example, Roxas and Xion wouldn't have been able to stop absorbing each other's strength.

And I adore the Roxas/Xion pairing!

I tell you, Days was a great game. It was very emotional and meaningful. I like it more than CoM and Re: Coded both. And there are some days, since I replayed KH1 recently, that I like Days better than that one.

I liked that we got to see things from the "bad guys'" side for once. And I think developments in Days, like Xion and the Replica program, will be very important in the future.

It just felt like a KH game to me with its themes. And I enjoyed the good old mystery of trying to figure out just who Xion was. The main thing that draws me to the KH series is that I can't predict it (sadly, I can predict the outcome of almost any story these days). And Days did not disappoint. I never would have guessed that Xion was supposed to be a clone of Sora!

And another thing much appreciated about this game, was that it wasn't the same thing happening in the Disney worlds for the millionth time. Different things were happening. And we actually went to the real worlds (unlike CoM and Coded). Heck, we weren't even limited to KH1 worlds. There were KH2 ones like The Beast's Castle.

I actually enjoyed the battle system (limits ftw!) and the panel system. It felt like we had good control of what our character was doing. And I am in awe at the graphics on the DS.

Though I wouldn't have minded RAX going to different places, I didn't mind the ice cream thing. It made sense with the story (and the missions), and I enjoyed seeing the friends act like friends. I was glad we got to know the characters. Because let's face it: we never really see SRK all together. And though we had nice flashbacks of VTA, that was darkened by the bad going on. The Days trio will always be the perfect one to me.

And, in all honesty, it was Days that made me love Roxas and Axel's characters. I'd liked them, but I was sort of on the fence about them until this game. So kudos to Days for making me adore them.

So happy two year anniversary, Days! Though you are unappreciated, the ones that loved you, loved many aspects of you. LOL.

Here's hoping for a remake in the future!

I just thought I'd say that I'm still participating. I'm assuming you knew this since I submitted my part, and am listed here, but I thought I'd just tell you to be on the safe side.

Also, is some of my quality bothering people? If so, I'm sorry. But certain clips (like Revenant Wings) are near impossible to find. Do you want me to submit a part of the vid that has better quality?

Hmmm... I think I'll submit the finished version to the portal, and just give you the download link to the shortened version.

Speaking of which, here's the download link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=AP2N64LO

If you end up needing me to shorten it, just let me know;) I can shorten it no problem. This is the forty-three second one.

Without the intro music my video’s about a minute long. However, I can shorten the video to forty-five seconds; I can shorten it to thirty seconds. What time frame works best for you?

Oh! I can submit it into the portal then? That’s actually what I wanted to do. I didn’t think it’d be fair to submit it into the Top Five, and I’d thought videos in the video portal were automatically entered.

I’ll be sure to put it into the video portal, and give a download link when I’ve shortened the vid to the appropriate time.

Alright, I can shorten it. No problem;) But what should I do with it when I'm done? Do you need the download link, or what?

And could I put the too long version in the Top Five Contest?

I just got done with a vid that I could use. It's 1:33. I've already posted it to YT. Is that allowed?

Also, would I be able to submit the video to the top five contest, or should I just use it for this?
