Vexen waved off to the two, still a bit confused at who the girl was. But Zexion had things under control, so he wasn't too worried. Opening a portal to the upper levels, he stepped inside the darkness.

"Zexion? You're here too? How odd. I ju--" the older emmber stopped his sentence midway as he spotted Kairi. "What are you doing with her?"

Roxas smiled at Axel. "Hey, sorry about the whole forgetting you thing." he said, rubbing the back of his head nervously. Hearing the rest of the redheads words, he blushed harder. "I..erm..uhh.. Say, Riku, how are things?" he asked, trying to get the pressure off himself.

Roxas blushed, pulling away from Namine. Even if he didn't have a heart, he was still a boy. "Erm.. Anyways. Yeh, so. Where are we going to get all these hearts? I mean.. Zexy is probably going to kill us if we don't get him one.. and I don't want to think about what you two will do" he stated, eyeing Lexaaeus and Xaldin's weapons cautiously.

Roxas looked at the keyblade Zexion handed to Namine. It was.. pretty? Like Kairi's. Maybe it was a girl thing.
"Zexion.. I don't even want to know how you got that" he said, helping Sora up then fighting off more nobodies. "And Namine is right; can't you and Axel control these guys?" He stopped. "For the moment, I wish I hadn't left the Organization.."

Right.
Zexion never really liked Axel, or anyone for that matter.
So if he had survived, he surely would have told the Superior what had happened in the Castle, and outranking Axel, the Superior would have believed him.
And Axel, knowing this, took him out.
Zexion didn't betray the Organization or anything, really.
