He called again. I can here him on the other line. He's breathing hard. I never understood what it ment until he uttered the words "Come to me now" through the phone. I hung up after he did and ran out the door. I hopped onto my silver bike and sped down the road.
Before I go on, my name is Suki Yamanaki. I was fifteen when that happened. I still was going through "The Stage," so my hair was purple, not the traditional black and my contacts made my eyes purple instead of blue. That was my life during the HaraJuku stage in Japan. What do you expect?
So I got to his house around 4:30. Fifteen minutes after he called, I thought. I opened his door and looked around.
"Hello?" I uttered into the dead silent house. I heard a crash from the room next to the door and saw a wheezing Jak Fuki on the ground. He had been my all time crush, so going to his house was awesome for me. I grabbed his hand and squeezed it. He squeezed, but it wasn't a strong squeeze.
"I'll call the police. Stay there, Fuki-chan." I stood up. Suddenly, Jak reached over and grabbed my left boot. I could tell he didn't want me to go and worry people so I kneeled down again and brushed back his brown bangs away from his eyes. I smiled at him and he smiled back. We had been only going for about two days before this. He was sweet with his brown hair always drapping over his eyes. He had called earlier that day to say he wasn't going to school tomorrow. When he called again, I began to worry.
Now that I saw him like this I couldn't resist. I bent down over him and kissed his cheek. He grabbed my hand and squeezed a weak squeeze. I smiled, tears begining to form.
"This.....is.....my time......to......go" Jak barely wheezed out. I felt a tear roll out onto my nose and I saw it dive off onto Jak's cheek. I bent down and kissed his cheek again, only to have him stop me. He grabbed my head and tried his best to sit up. He leaned over to me and kissed my lips. He gently lowered himself onto the ground.
"C-could.....you....call...m-me....Jak...this...o-o-once?"He wheezed. I nodded my head and dropped onto his chest. I felt it heave as I said his name.
"Jak, I love you. Don't tell me. I already know. You love me too." I felt his heart skip a beat and his chest heaved one more time. He sucked in a deep breathe of air, only he didn't let it out. He never would, never could.
