That the pic you were looking for, iwantedtoexplode? As for 'dis-soul,' it is probable that these are the 'third enemies' that have been speculated. And, is it really all that surprising? The trinity (an interconnected, symbolic threesome) is a recurring motif in Kingdom Hearts, and is most recognizable with Sora, Donald, and Goofy. This 'enemy Trinity'...could these parts perhaps make a person? Heartless are the darkness in the heart, Nobodies are the body and soul, and 'Dis-Souls' are...what? The light of the heart, perhaps?
This person on KH Insider brings up something that he found on the Japanese side of the Internet. He makes note of three 'groups': the Renoath, Tearsh, and Menas. ALL of these can be rearranged into something (Renoath = Another, Tearsh = hearts, Menas = names). And can't Xehanort be rearranged as 'Another' (minus the x)?
It also appears that 'dis-soul' are what happens when a Nobody is defeated...but their corresponding Heartless is NOT. It's even less than a Nobody apparently...just a body now.
That symbol is not official (sorry to burst your bubbles). The third symbol (which resembles an 'm' sort of) can be seen after you pick up Namine's sketches and return to the room leading to DiZ's computer (Roxas draws it on the table and his hand sort of obscures our view). I own the strategy guide too and all it's used for is to show non-Heartless and Nobody baddies. :l
And the knights all have 'm' like symbols on their chests too, may I remind you.
Also, notice the kid in this picture...doesn't he look like Xehanort, a little? Perhaps this is Xehanort, before he came to Radiant Garden/Hollow Bastion...
E.S. stands for the boss that's (supposedly) tougher than Sephiroth, it's one of the armored knights. E.S. is the name that Nomura's given him (E.S. = 'Enigmatic Soldier). :)
I'm not sure how much I'd like it if the knights were to become new characters (unless they become more than just people in the background), but I don't really know what they're like, so I'll remain neutral until I see the final product.
As for your e-mail/chat group suggestion, if you want, I can PM you and give you my e-mail address if you wish.
And last statement, I'm not totally sure, but isn't there a rule that states that threads (unless in the spam section) aren't supposed to deviate from the original topic? Just making sure.
Thanks for the link, that video is making me scratch my head even more now at what this all might mean, but that's Nomura's way, so I suppose I can't complain too much. :p
As for your idea, it might be possible, I mean, this might also be a reason that Roxas was brain-washed of sorts (i.e. he loses his memories and his 'stored' in Twilight Town), to prevent him from possibly seeking out the knights, perhaps?
As for Roxas attacking Sora, this might be both right and wrong. I think (remember, this is just personally) that Roxas was just testing how strong Sora was, there wasn't really any bigger rhyme or reason to it. But that's just my two cents on it.
I don't think that Xehanort can have a Chaser, and here's why: the definition of a Chaser isn't like something from the body. A chaser, by definition, is one who carves intricacies into keys (i.e. designs and shapes). So perhaps 'Chasers' are the ones who craft the appearance of Keyblades.
Hm...after reading what you've had to save, Zeftnon, I'd like to see that video, do you know of the link to it on YouTube?
This actually makes me think of the knights now as some sort of...law enforcement. Perhaps they're trying to keep the ability of wielding Keyblades to those who're few?
You know...that's a very well thought out explanation. :D And I think you actually may be onto something here. I'll have to rewatch the video though, because I can't recall the knights have 'm's on their chest plates. And Roxas' idea is probably right, I mean, if everyone on different worlds had Keyblades, then no one would be in any real danger (okay, that'd put Sora out of a job, but I guess you've got to crack a few eggs to make an omelet, right?)
Hm...okay, then that differs from my idea few posts above, but I have to interject something: the new secret boss we fight in KH2: FM+ is not colored the same way as the first knight we see. So think you might be a little off base here.
I actually like it, and I think that it's probable that this will happen in the next game, though the extent of your guesses is unknown to me, I feel that this will probably be proven right.
You know...I just had a recent thought: if this is indeed in the past, then couldn't we think that perhaps Sora, Riku, and Kairi are just reincarnations of the knights we see? We all know that hearts return to Kingdom Hearts (even the ones Heartless steal), so I think that some element of reincarnation must be involved, I believe it was even stated before that Kingdom Hearts is a akin to a recycling plant, or something.
This might also be true too, and would make some sense, at least on the surface. But I think that Keyblades probably 'disappear' if their owners choose them to. Then again, if you're right, we don't know how far into the future this is. 50 years? 100 years? 700? It's impossible to tell. So the gang, as we know them, could actually be dead around this time. And, like I said before, maybe this 'Sunset Horizons' (I believe this is what it's being called right now), is where the Keyblades will all come to rest, at some point or another.
You know...if the secret movie takes place in the past, then this could possibly mean that the man we see in that picture could be something like Ansem the Wise's ancestor, or something. I mean, the Ansem we know in the 'now' was interested in Heartless, and this guy seems to have a Heartless-type creature with him (I'm not calling it a Heartless, check out its helmet, that seems very Nobody-like to me...)
SEVENTEEN bars?! Are you *sure* Axel's#1FanGirl? I can't really make them out that well. As for the knight's coloration...does anyone else notice that it doesn't resemble any of other knights in the secret movie? Just thought I'd bring that up.
Perhaps...and for all I know, I'm wrong about all of this. But, however, this does not exactly address WHY the knights are there; nor does your statement answer as to why they look battle worn (if this is indeed in the past) and why they look brand new in the first Kingdom Hearts.
Well...I'm not actually sure on this part. But, if you ask me, I think that perhaps it might be that there might be parts where you 'visit' different time periods, besides the present. But that's just a guess.
